Fish • Steak • Drinks • Chicken

"The New York Strip had a lovely presentation, but instead of being served as a whole steak, it was sliced and placed on a bed of perfectly seasoned fingerling potatoes and spinach. The fried chicken was massive (half a chicken), but it was somewhat underwhelming for a chicken aficionado. The cobia (the market fish) was presented blandly, and the sides didn't impress either. However, the oyster appetizer received rave reviews from everyone. The cornbread wasn't worth the calories, but the meatballs were well-received. The butternut bisque could have been warmer; it turned out a bit too thick but had nice flavor enhancements from bacon and maple that added a lovely texture. Due to a computer issue at the restaurant, our visit lasted three hours, which was actually ideal for an occasion like this. I think a two-hour timeframe would feel rushed for a party of six adults. Unfortunately, my Cosmopolitan was not up to par — light and watered down, and I drink a lot of them! The designated server had to cover a large area, which made service less efficient, especially since the yurt layout presented some obstacles. Despite the busyness of the restaurant, our server worked hard to assist us, but there were delays with our drinks and empty glasses. Overall, it must be a popular local favorite since the place was packed, but we probably wouldn't make the drive back given the many dining options closer to home."
