"I’ve been a customer here many years. My Five stars is for all their lovely breads, cookies, and premade cakes, and all the good memories of sipping cappucino in their window waiting for my daughter to finish gymnastics class nearby. And I still order baked goods here, and cakes from the cases. However, I feel I really should add my experience to the stories of others regarding the accuracy and quality of special made to order cakes because i feel the owner and management who never seem to be there when you want them should know. FirstPhoto the flower box cake as it is usually made at Buttercooky for Mother’s Day. I love it! it’s novel, It’s luxe, it can be filled almost any way you like, and it’s freaking EASY to make. Pure Baking Genius! My daughter was gifted an actual box of these preserved roses for her BS degree graduation and loved it to death. What better fun (and how easy! to get Buttercooky to make her a cake version for her MS degree graduation, and have it made in her school colors (violet and white ? Well, it wasnt that easy, actually. The next two photos show what I ended up with, after i told them all i needed was for them to do a larger version of that cake, and please substitute purple roses. I even sent them the actual Pantone color number for the exact purple the university uses so they could match the roses perfectly. Guys! so much purple???!! Upon seeing the cake at pickup i nearly passed out, but since i was there and the clock was ticking on the party deadline, i asked them if they could please get rid of that awful purple fondant and just put a white fondant collar on the cake as this would be a quick fix. The crew in the back refused, saying it’d wreck the cake. The cake was already wrecked, in my opinion how much worse could it get? To this day i wonder what might’ve happened if i’d offered to throw some money after that plea for help. But the clock was ticking! i needed a cake for that evening’s celebration. That’s when i called my Cake Ninja friends, who met me at my house with some fondant the nice stuff, not the Play Doh kind and we performed a fondant transplant on the sickly purple cake, and even added a Real Ribbon Handle, which is totally possible to do , don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Not one buttercream rose was wrecked, and my daughter got the adorable cake she deserved. The last photo is of the cake, post makeover. Looks pretty cute, right? Someone please show this to whoever said it couldn't be done. Moral of the story ? I feel there are three points important for both customers and management to consider: 1 I feel customers need to make certain to speak in person to an experienced, cake decor savvy individual never trust that the person taking phone orders knows a thing about cakes, even if they do work in a bakery. 2 Even if you are asking for a cake they've made hundreds of times in the past, do provide a drawing of what you want with colors textures specified in order to make certain you get what you want. 3 I personally don't feel i can ever again expect any help from Buttercooky if something goes wrong on their end, even if it’s an easy fix. This is why i will not ever order another themed special order cake from them, although i still think most of their case cakes are nice, especially the tres leches."

"I recently visited a restaurant that had both strengths and weaknesses in their service and offerings. **Pros:** 1. The waitress was friendly and attentive, always checking in on us. 2. The terrace provided a quiet and welcoming atmosphere, complete with a peaceful pond filled with Koi fish. **Cons:** 1. **Food Availability Issues:** Unfortunately, we encountered several problems with food availability. We attempted to order a calzone and a Stromboli, but were informed they didn’t have the necessary equipment or chef to prepare them. We then ordered a salad, only to find out they didn’t have the ingredients for a Swedish salad. Our next choice, their spinach and mushroom pizza, was also unavailable due to missing ingredients. 2. **Pizza Quality:** After numerous failed attempts, we had to settle for two types of pizza: a vegetarian and a meat lover's variant. Both crusts were disappointing—almost burnt on the bottom and soggy on top. The vegetarian pizza was topped with poorly cooked, nearly raw vegetables. 3. **High Prices:** With two salads and two pizzas, our bill exceeded $80. I wouldn’t mind paying that much if the quality met expectations, but unfortunately, it fell short. 4. **Lack of Empathy:** Throughout our meal, our waitress had to interrupt our conversation multiple times to inform us that our orders couldn’t be fulfilled. Given all the complications, we expected a bit more understanding and empathy from the staff. Although we remained kind and patient, it was disappointing to have to reorder so frequently. We learned that their food delivery was scheduled for the next day, which explained some of the shortages. However, it seems odd that a restaurant, especially one located right next to a supermarket, would run out of basic ingredients like those needed for a salad. This raised concerns about the freshness of the food we were served: if they were out of stock today, how fresh could the food we ate actually be? I was especially glad I didn’t order any of the seafood options on the menu. Overall, my experience left me unimpressed. A simple gesture of apology or a complimentary dessert could have gone a long way in making us feel valued as customers. It’s unfortunate, as this type of service doesn’t seem typical for a restaurant that could otherwise provide a lovely dining experience. Signed, An Unimpressed Customer."

"My experience at Mix Mix was, well, mixed, but overall not bad. The food was fine, the service was good (but slowed significantly as tables filled up) and the environment was well kempt. The restaurant really began to fill up after 7:30 and service slowed way down after being initially very prompt. As a side note, they are located very close to a parking garage where there 's ample parking. It is pay to park, but it only cost me about $3 for a couple hours, so very affordable. There is limited parking on the street if your fortunate enough to nab a spot. When my girlfriend and I first arrived at Mix Mix, it was not too crowded. That was pretty surprising for a Friday night 7, but that soon changed and the place got busier over the next half hour. The host and our waitress were very friendly and attentive. They answered all our questions about the menu. The menu, it is pretty limited. It is two pages one side is beverages, the other is appetizers, entrees that come from the land, entrees that come from the sea and a sole dessert. There 's roughly a dozen food options to select from. Not too much variety. For beverages, my girlfriend ordered a margarita to drink and I stuck with boring ol ' water. For the meal, we ended up going with the brussel sprouts, the shishito peppers (I 'm a HUGE fan of shishito peppers in general) and the burger. I requested the burger as a lettuce wrap and the waitress said they could put the burger components on a bed of lettuce but they could not do a wrap. I consented to this and our orders were locked in. First up was the margarita. My girlfriend took a sip and said it tasted like pure margarita mix with no alcohol. I then took a sip and did taste an ever so faint after taste of tequila. We let our waitress know the margarita was a bit weak and they brought us a shot of tequila, on the house, which definitely improved the bland cocktail. Next up were the brussel sprouts. YES, to these brussel sprouts. This is how you do brussel sprouts. Well done, Mix Mix. If you 're struggling to decide from the limited options on the menu, let me be your guide and get the brussel sprouts. The were very flavorful and had what tasted like a slightly spicy aioli sauce on them that complimented them exceedingly well. FANTASTIC dish. Next up, the shishito peppers. This is difficult for me to type, being such a huge shishito pepper fan, but...the shishito peppers were pretty bland and average at best. There really was no flavor to them. They were basically cooked in an oil, had some bread crumbs a top and a dab of plain yogurt that they sat on. The yogurt did nothing to add any flavor. We asked for a side of sriracha, which helped some, but I was disappointed by the potential these peppers had. The peppers were high quality, just bland. They really could use the treatment the brussel sprouts received to bring out some flavor. Lastly, my burger arrived. My initial thought after my first bite was Hey...this tastes exactly like In N Out! Now, that 's not necessarily a bad thing. Anthony Bourdain was once asked what his favorite meal was and out of the vast array of foods he had eaten he replied In N Out burgers. There 's a reason you always see a line at their drive thrus. So I did enjoy the burger. But it just tasted so familiar. The patty, the cheese, the sauce, I couldn 't perish the thought that I was eating an In N Out burger. It all tasted uncannily similar. But, at $18, the price was not similar at all. After finishing all of the aforementioned, my girlfriend was still hungry and, seeing as how she is vegetarian and the menu is already slim enough as it is if you aren 't vegetarian, she decided to order some more of the bland shishito peppers and another margarita. The restaurant had gotten busier at this time, though, there were still a fair amount of open tables. But we lost track of time for how long we waited for those two items to arrive. We ended up telling our waitress just to cancel them. A few minutes later, she brought out the peppers and the margarita and said they would be comped, which was a very nice gesture considering the very long wait time we endures. All in all, not a bad establishment. I think it 's a good spot to try. I wouldn 't say I see myself becoming a regular, though. The menu is very limited. Out of the 3 items I had, one was excellent, one was fine and one was meh. I wouldn 't recommend coming on the weekends late into the evening lest you risk the very long wait times we experienced for our last additions to our order."
