"we enjoyed our evening in the copper canyon grill very much. there was live music, and it was good. Although there was a fair bit of ambient noise, we could still hear ourselves easily with normal voice. we liked that there were lighter above each table so that we could read our menu. our server was wonderfully knew the menu well, could make recommendations and was attentive. eating was very good. the chocolate uprising we had for dessert, was enough for at least 3 people and delicious. the price lets us say only for special occasions, but we would go back."

"It's crazy I haven't updated Stanford Grill's review in all these years since I must have come back here dozens of times since the first review and enjoyed every one of them. This location has always been nice and clean and cozy during my visits and my food always comes out hot and prepared as described by the very friendly and attentive team at Stanford Grill. They used to do a delicious lobster Thermidor and butternut squash spaghetti I haven't seen on the menu in a while but I still love the chicken pot pie, rattlesnake pasta, while I'm not inclined to order grilled salmon or rotisserie chicken out at restaurants often, theirs are always well executed. The star of the show here is the signature bread pudding dessert. I can't think of a bread pudding i've enjoyed more than theirs and with the grey goose peartini cocktail to accompany dessert, makes the perfect nightcap."

"They only have a one page menu and just about everything on it is fantastic. Avoid the chicken pot pie (of all the dishes I’ve tried this is one I’ll NEVER get again. This time the shrimp cargot was good- just not as good as usual. The people I was with enjoyed it (but this was their first time having it). Don’t get me wrong, it was good! Just not as good as usual. The smoked salmon is amazing. The crab cakes are very flavorful. My favorite appetizer is the fiesta egg rolls (excellent). "Copper Canyon Grill is the sister or brother to one of my favorite spots, the Stanford Grill. I met up with fellow Yelper, Sylvia A., for dinner here during a recent visit back to Maryland. Copper Canyon Grill has pretty much the same menu and vibe as the Stanford Grill, so I don't have many complaints. Since I was so familiar with the menu, I decided to try something I never tried from the menu before. I got the short smoked salmon, which came with mashed potatoes and a vegetable. Sylvia ordered these Oysters Rockefeller, which were a special that evening. I got to try one and wow! Those oysters were so good! I'm not even a big fan of oysters, but that dish was amazing. It wasn't prepared the traditional way which really gave it that wow factor. I really enjoyed my salmon dish. I also got a spicy pineapple cocktail. I don't remember the name of it, but it contained rum and really didn't have much spice at all. Before leaving, I had to get a slice of my favorite key lime pie to go. Overall, I had a nice dining experience here. The service was nice and I certainly wouldn't mind returning."

"I’ve always wanted to come here and sit on the open patio! First let me say that the service is amazing and the servers are extraordinary, very well mannered and nice! 5 stars for the service for sure! I had an old fashioned which tasted really good and had the rattlesnake pasta (fyi there’s no snake in it). The pasta was pretty good, but is not extraordinary! I’d give it at most 3/5 stars. My wife had a club salad which was miserable to say the least, there wasn’t any difference between the chicken and the croutons, moreover the lettuce wasn’t properly washed and still had little bugs on it. Overall, I’d give 5 stars for the location on the lake at Rio Washingtonian, the appearance of the restaurant and the service. The food though is very average and may be quite pricy for the quality; food deserves 0 (zero) stars."
