"I want to start by saying that the food here is fantastic. We often order a lot and always enjoy their specials. However, tonight (Friday), I placed an order for the whole family and was given a reasonable time for the food to be ready. I was pleased when I arrived to pick it up, but was surprised to find out before paying that they automatically added a 20% gratuity to my to-go order. When I asked why, I was told it was the owner's policy due to having only one person preparing the food. Meanwhile, my order was sitting beside the young lady at the counter, and after questioning the policy, she attempted to negotiate a different tip amount. After our discussion, I ended up leaving without the food. I have owned a business in this area for many years and truly appreciate all local restaurants and shops, but I have never encountered a policy that expects customers to compensate staff. I know this is a lengthy review, but I can assure you that we will not be ordering from here again."
