"Although we arrived right on time for our reservation, our table wasn't ready. However, the staff quickly accommodated us at the bar, where we enjoyed cocktails while waiting for less than 15 minutes. The interior of HSC has the charm of a vintage cigar shop or whiskey bar, creating a sophisticated and nostalgic atmosphere. The menu features a range of classic steakhouse starters, salads, and entrées. We started with the soup and salad specials; I went for the lobster bisque, while my wife chose the burrata salad. She loved her salad, though I found the lobster bisque a bit underwhelming. Our server, Matthew, recommended the 10oz sirloin with mushrooms and blue cheese fondue for me, while my wife opted for the 8oz filet. Each entrée came with a vegetable medley and the nightly potato option—garlic mashed potatoes—which were a perfect pairing with our steaks. The steaks were cooked to perfection, but the vegetable medley wasn't up to par. Even though we weren't particularly hungry, we decided to treat ourselves to dessert to complete the meal. With a couple of cocktails included, our total for the evening came to just over $250, tip included. Overall, The Hanover Street Chophouse is an excellent choice for a romantic date night, especially if you're already in the Manchester area or have other plans nearby. However, it may not be worth a long trip if you're planning to go there solely for the experience."

"We had two take away dishes Wednesday, 05/29/2024 just before closing time. The first was Fettuccine Alfredo with Grilled Chicken. The second was Spicy Chicken Fettuccine. When we got home and attempted to eat, they were both terribly salty. The Fettuccine Alfredo was supposed to have Grilled Chicken. Instead it had Parmesan Panko Chicken, which was the smallest chicken breast I have ever seen and it looked as though it had been boiled with its light tan color. The Spicy Chicken Alfredo was even saltier than the first dish. My partner wasn’t able to eat it, even after attempting to add fresh cream to the sauce and then a raw potato to absorb some of the salt. The two meals were nearly $50 that ended up being thrown away. When people go to an established, local restaurant, they should expect to receive food that is consistent in taste every time they go. Unfortunately we will have to tell people that The Onion no longer has kitchen staff who actually have cooking knowledge. As this was not the first time meals were not nearly as tasty as they used to be years ago. We tried giving them the benefit of the doubt last time. Now we will know that The Onion no longer values their customers and serves sub-par food. Very disappointing! Dietary restrictions: If you have a diet that restricts sodium intake, don’t bother to order from here. Food was heavily over salted and inedible!!"
