"As I entered this Cultural establishment, I felt like I was being whisked back to my parent 's homeland of Barranquilla, Colombia. My senses were looking for the smell and taste of my grandmother 's cooking, which her passing had since lost. Rosa Melendez, My Grandmother, was the last living relative besides her brother Roberto Flaco Melendez, the one and only Stadium Roberto Melendez. I miss my Grand Uncle and my Grandmother. This little small gem in Virginia Beach brings back memories. Expect to spend $45 for a complete meal. They do not have a Lunch Special, which I found odd since it is Colombian practice to have a discounted menu for Lunch. Although I do not eat out much, personally, this was an absolute treat. I recommend the Chef, the waitress working there was so kind and patient with me. I have to say it was one of the most desirable experiences I have had in dining; well worth the cost I paid because not only are you paying for food, you 're paying for service and a clean environment that is safe to eat. Separate from the restaurant, there is a Colombian Bakery and Small Colombian Store built into the same building that is equally clean and intriguing with authentic Colombian ART! If you are looking for original Colombian art, you have come to the right place! If you feel you 're paying too much money, you have not factored in the cost of transporting from Colombia to here because the United States has increased its taxes on goods made in other countries. It is rare to buy authentic Colombian art not made in China. Omg, this potato Bread is so good!
