"I came here with employees and was pleasantly surprised to find a fully vegetarian section of their menu as well as many vegan-labeled items. they have also added vegan fools to the menu. I had a chimichanga that was really good. Unfortunately, it came up with cheese on the table and I had to make it new, but they were super nice about it and recognized it before it was even served. the salsa bar was legit. two different types of chips and different salads that they can use themselves. I really enjoyed that! also in the position to go from work (I work in the phoenix capitol area) was a plus. they have water cups that are plastic, and styropor for so that I don't have a fan of, but different from that, it's nice to have a place I can actually go to foot from work with my coworkers."

"At first glance, it might seem like just another typical Mexican restaurant, but this place has become a must-visit during our vacation. We had a 7-year-old with us who usually sticks to simpler foods, but he enjoyed their classic cheeseburger and even ventured out of his comfort zone by trying guacamole and chicken fajitas for the first time—and he actually liked them! If you’ve dealt with picky eaters, you know how significant that is!"

"If you're in search of a fantastic Mexican restaurant with a charming family-owned atmosphere, your search ends here! This spot serves up delicious food, and the service is incredibly quick. The tables are spotless, and the dishes are outstanding. I've visited several times, but the Sopes truly stood out to me. The food is fresh and not greasy at all, giving it the feel of a wonderfully home-cooked meal. This place has definitely become my new favorite!"

"10/10! Picked up a small catering/fiesta tray here after having one at a friend’s a few weekends ago. Excellent, delicious food. Everything was prepped and handled with care by the team members. They even helped me load the food into my car. You get a ton of food for your money and they even throw in the chips and salsa (a LOT of it) at no extra charge if you get a fiesta tray, which is awesome. Food was still nice and hot by the time I got it home 15 min later, and held really well while guests got their food. Definitely a great price for both catering and dining in. I have been here before for a birthday party. Love the ambiance and decor- it’s very clean and relaxing environment. I highly recommend!!"

"Food is amazing but I was very disappointed. I ordered a large order for my daughter 's party and called the order in the day before. I gave a time for pickup and even called before getting there. The food wasn 't ready and I waited for almost 30 minutes for the restaurant to figure out a price . I felt that they were not prepared and it caused me to be late to my own party. Quality of food is amazing but due to their lack of preparedness and inability to price (which I felt was extremely high) , I rated it the way I did."

"This charming and cozy local café offers dishes inspired by Jalisco, Mexico. The food is fresh and flavorful, but the highlight of the menu is definitely the mole enchiladas, especially since good mole can be hard to find in San Diego. It's quickly become my new favorite spot for Mexican cuisine in Imperial Beach!"

"The service and atmosphere was not very professional. When arriving to the place we seen the cook and cashier eating which was the individuals who prepared the food. We gave them the benefit of a doubt because this was our first time eating here and we read good reviews on the place. The food we had was breakfast burritos, I had the chorizo with egg, bean, potato and cheese. The burritos was good until I found a long stand of hair in my food, as you can see in the video. This was very disappointing, and left me with a disinterest of eating at this place again. This was the first and will be the last time my family and I will eat here again."

"Short story: Food was really good, wait staff was good. My drink was not and the manager was rude to me. I won 't be back. Longer story: This was one of the first times I 've ever ordered a mixed drink at a restaurant. I saw raspberry mojito on the Specials white board at the entrance and envisioned a few fresh raspberries mashed up with the mint leaves. Sounded good. The raspberry flavor turned out to be from syrup and I could not finish even half of my $10.50 drink. I mentioned it to the nice gentlemen up front as I was leaving, who told me he thought he could help. A lady came back and asked me what was wrong, but did not tell me she was the manager right away. I didn 't know who she was, but explained my drink situation, and she described why she could not use fresh berries. Okay, that made sense. But....there was no apology, not even I 'm sorry you did not enjoy your drink and certainly no Let me see your bill and I 'll put $5 back on your card. Any of these options would have made me feel better about our dinner there. What did she say? That I should have told my waiter right away when I was asked how everything was. Total implication was that it was my fault and therefore my problem. Then she walked away. Okay. I won 't be back. Food: 4 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5"

"We went on a Sunday evening, and it was a bit crowded, but the wait was only about 20 minutes. I love the vibe in this place. It's like a very old, traditional Mexican restaurant (which it actually is . The menu is huge, so there's lots of choices, and we all enjoyed what we ordered. (There were 7 of us. I got the seafood enchiladas and they were really delicious. The only thing I didn't care for were the chips. They are the really coarse, greasy ones. It's just as well, though, because I didn't fill up on chips like I usually do! The service was good and the employees attentive. I know we'll be back because there are several things we each still want to try. It was well worth the drive from San Marcos. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

"Pretty disappointed with this restaurant. My first visit will be my last...and sadly they probably don 't care. I visited with a large PLANNED group. They were not prepared for us. The wait staff treated us like second class citizens because we were part of THAT group . Over 80 people who would estimate $26 per ticket, and tip $10 a plate....$2880 not a bad morning revenue generator...and marketing to 80 people who MIGHT return. Pretty good opportunity that went to poopville because of bad customer service. The food was mediocre. The wait staff was increased because we were coming but they still were overwhelmed. I know one of our party never got served because the waitress never came back to check on us. And they split the group. The manager was condescending and didn 't receive my input very well. Maybe it was because I wasn 't the only person complaining. Do not bring a large party here. And I wouldn 't go here if you are expecting wonderful food. I was going for the group event. No reason to make a return...even if it 's a group event."

"I ordered 2 cheese enchiladas and a sour cream and spinach enchilada. I received 2 chicken enchiladas and the sour cream and spinach. I was all you could eat enchiladas day. The chicken was dry and had no flavor. I received another sour cream and spinach. They never came back to our table. They forgot a soup order. I'm not happy with this visit."

"This is the best restaurant for authentic Mexican food! As someone from California, it's hard to find genuine options around here, but they definitely have it. The owner and staff are amazing, and the prices are very reasonable."

"I visited Torero's for the first time today and enjoyed it. It's your basic Mexican fare with some nice additions like queso with chorizo. The complimentary chips are salsa were good with the chips having a clean taste and crisp texture while the salsaand a good mix of veggies and sauce with cilantro and onion. The cheese dip was tasty with chorizo and green onions. I enjoyedit a lot. For my entree, I had arroz con pollo and tasted the chicken requires taquitos. The arroz con pollo is tomato basedand differs from others that I've had only in that it had a hint of orange citrus. The taquitos has a really nice smoky flavorwhich pared well with the sour cream and guacamole. Our server was very attentive and friendly. We'll definitely be back!"

"Service was great on a fairly busy Sunday evening. We sat outside and had a very pleasant dinner after getting back in town tired from a road trop. The chips and queso really hit the spot to start off, and the bell peppers in the fajitas were the best I’ve had (charred but still a little crisp and very flavorful, not all mushy). Waitress was friendly and attentive. Note about some of the bad reviews: Carmel has a bit of a snobby rep. English isn’t everyone’s first language and it takes a lot of work to learn a second language. If you’re polite and keep it simple, I think you’ll find the service is just fine. If you don’t, well, maybe you brought the problem with you."

"Now that I've gotten that off my chest, let me rave about their Poblano Chicken Chile Relleno, which was absolutely delicious. The poblano pepper was stuffed with shredded chicken breast, smothered in a tasty sauce, and topped with generous amounts of cheese. I ordered the #10, which included the Chile Relleno and a Puffed Beef Taco, both of which were fantastic. The taco was crispy, and the beef filling was seasoned to perfection with a wonderful cumin flavor. The rest of our group had the beef and chicken fajitas, which were also very good. For dessert, we indulged in the churros—crispy on the outside, perfectly fried, filled with dulce de leche, and dusted with cinnamon sugar. It was a delightful treat! Just beware that the first bite might be molten hot because of the dulce de leche. The atmosphere was fun, and my daughter had a blast, especially when everyone sang happy birthday to her while she wore a giant sombrero."
