For their vegan pastries, they use organic agave nectar as a sweetener, and their bagels contain barley malt. Honey is used in their whole wheat, multi-grain, and cinnamon swirl breads. They also addressed the issue of honey in vegan products, claiming that they obtain their ingredients from suppliers who maintain that the use of bone char is an outdated practice and not commonly employed in the New England area."
