"This was our third visit to Cakes Ale, and this time we were celebrating my birthday, which I had mentioned in advance. The food and atmosphere were just as good as we remembered from previous visits. However, the service was a major disappointment this time around. We experienced long waits between courses, and our finished plates were left on the table without being cleared. Additionally, there was no acknowledgment of the birthday celebration. It seemed like the kitchen was overwhelmed, even though the restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. I also noticed that the staff appeared stretched thin, with our waiter juggling multiple responsibilities, which likely affected the level of service we received. Unfortunately, we will be seeking out more appealing and deserving restaurants in the future, especially considering the cost."
