"My wife and I wanted a nice laid-back place to sit outside and enjoy a fun dinner. We ended up being very disappointed by the service. Our server took about 10-15 minutes to get to the table (which feels like an eternity when you are waiting to order beverages). They took our drink order and quickly returned with a cocktail and waters but the beer we ordered was delayed by a few minutes. Not a big deal, but then the night went south. We didn't see our server again for a very long time. We started to feel like our appetizer was a little delayed when food runners showed up with our entrees. No app in sight. We let them know and eventually the server brought our app. But we were halfway into the meal by that point. The food tasted fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad. The nachos, I admit, were delicious. The mac and cheese we ordered was described to have bread crumbs but was missing that. Fortunately the server had it taken care of pretty quickly. We were never asked about having our drinks refilled. And after eating, we waited a long time for our check. It just seemed to take forever for everything. None of the problems by themselves would have been a big deal, but together it added up to a somewhat unpleasant experience. The server was nice and apologetic. They also comped us the appetizer which was nice. May have been an off night or maybe a new server, but I can't say I would recommend going on a Saturday night. Also, we did enjoy the outdoor seating area. It was a little tight, but the ambiance was nice."

"We wanted to like this restaurant. It's attractive, and the menu is a little different from standard fare. Disappointment began with the hostess. Our reservation specified a booth. She asked if we wanted a booth or a table, not bothering to read the note. She led us to a booth in the bar which was being cleaned, and, rather than asking if we wanted to wait, led us to a small corner two-top in the corner of the bar. The waiter was fine--when he was there, but was also the bartender, and spent most of his time setting up the bar. The manager, when not talking to one table he apparently knew, stood at the bar talking to the bartender. We both ordered soup, which wasn't bad, although I was served the wrong soup, but since no one asked how it was, I ate it. We had no napkins or silverware--the person delivering the food brought napkins after we asked. Later, the waiter brought silverware. We both had sandwiches. My wife's Fried Green Tomato BLT had minimal bacon, and the basil aioli was so heavy she had to scrape some off. My chicken salad had big chunks of chicken, but not much more--a rare case of Southern food needing more dressing! My wife's fries were coated with salt. When she remarked about it to the waiter as he cleared a plate with two-thirds of them remaining, his response was that they're usually not that heavily salted, period. The manager was apparently too busy to come over after the comment, or at any other point."

"Based on other Yelp reviews, I decided to try the Guava cheesecake, priced at $7, while the whole cake goes for about $2.50. The server asked if I wanted it cut into 4, 6, or 8 slices, and I opted for 8, wanting to share it with my dining companions. The Guava cheesecake is light, fluffy, and moist. You can definitely taste the cream cheese, but the flavor of the guava is surprisingly mild. Typically, guava is known for its strong and aromatic profile, yet in this dessert, it tasted more like strawberry than guava. It also had a very vibrant red color, which made me wonder if food coloring was added, as guava usually doesn’t retain such a bright hue when cooked. Those who find guava overpowering might be pleasantly surprised by its subtle flavor here. One of my friends ordered the Guava empanada but found it less impressive than the cheesecake. The crust was rather dry and unappealing, while the filling tasted similar to that of the cheesecake. Another dining companion had the egg croissant, which she found to be fresh and tasty. I didn’t order coffee, but those at my table who did seemed pleased with their drinks. The prices are quite reasonable, with most items between $2 and $4. An interesting aspect of the restaurant is its layout; according to health code regulations, patrons must enter through the front and then access the back section, which serves as a community hall or forum. During our visit on a Sunday morning, there was an AA meeting in progress, which made it a bit awkward as we walked through their gathering to reach the main dining area, though they appeared accommodating. Keep in mind that parking is limited to street parking, so Sunday mornings are your best bet, as metered parking is free then."
