"When the bill came, they forgot to remove the burger charge, which wasn’t a big issue since they took it back to adjust. This is where things took a bizarre turn: the “corrected bill” showed that they only removed 75% of the burger’s cost. When I asked for them to remove the full price since I hadn’t eaten it and it wasn’t cooked properly, they raised the price of my drink by 25%. I was baffled. When I questioned why they would hike the price of other items on my check to offset their $5.00 loss on a $20.00 burger, Mike, who identified himself as the “owner/manager,” insisted I had been charged incorrectly for my drink. He also firmly stated that there was nothing wrong with the burger. However, if you order a burger medium and receive one that is hard, dry, and charred, there’s definitely a problem with the meal. At this point, other diners started to speak up, revealing they had been charged the same amount for their drinks as my original bill before the increase. It felt suspicious. As a seasoned traveler who dines in various restaurants, I have never encountered such blatant dishonesty, especially from an establishment affiliated with a major hotel chain. My advice to anyone considering Avere Ristorante – Sheraton Brooklyn is to take photos of your bill BEFORE paying or asking questions, and document your meal, especially if it’s not right. Due to this experience, I will NEVER eat at Avere Ristorante and I will also NEVER stay at the Sheraton Brooklyn during any future trips to Brooklyn, whether for work or leisure."

"Avoid this place. I 've been here twice. First time was several years ago when they were relatively new. This time was within the last week. Arrived for a late breakfast, and they were understandbly busy. Put my name on the list and proceeded to wait. I noticed a lot of people waiting for food but chalked it up to a rush. After watching the hostess write down names as people walked in (without asking for names), I realized she wasn 't even paying attention to the list to call names from. Had to almost yell at her to get her to see our name at the top. Seemed she was calling 'regulars ' instead of starting at the top. Finally got seated and she apologized for not being able to read and we eventually ordered after a few minutes. We then sat for 30 minutes and watched everyone seated after us get their food. No one attempted to tell us if/why there was a delay. After we decided to get up and leave, the waitress tried to tell us it 'll just be another minute. At this point I 'd been in this place for an hour and didn 't get one iota of decent service. If you 're a regular, they seem to take care of you, but as a new customer I was left sitting there with nothing. I don 't know exactly what went wrong to have no food when everyone else was getting food, but a little bit communication could have gone a long way to making me feel better. Instead, I felt neglected and won 't be back."
