"I 've never been to Southside Deli before, didn 't even know it existed. Driven by it thousands of times but, well, no excuses. So when I found myself with a hungry tummy and a desire for a good sandwich, I didn 't expect Google to show me a place a block from SMH.Parking is tight in the area, 4 spaces right in front and more on Hillview but busy times are going to be .... an entertaining excerise.Or you can call your order in and pick it up at the drive-thru window. A drive-thru at a non-fast food restaurant? That 's nuts and terrific. The menu is displayed on several flat screens above the counter but they change kind of quickly so it took a few passes to read everything and make a decision. To say my muffuletta panini was 'hot off the press ' is both an understatement and a terrible pun. It was delivered to my table within 2 minutes of ordering and I couldn 't pick it up for a minute without risk of burning my fingers. This place is a well-oiled machine full of friendly staff. And it is really clean, it looked like it just opened at the start of the lunch rush.Once it cooled down a few notches it was a tasty sandwich. The olive tapenade was milder than on other muffulettas I 've had but still a good, fairly light lunch with a pickle spear on the side. And now that I know they 're there, I 'll be stopping in again.Plenty of space for the walker wheelchair crowd to navigate. The front door is wide and the tables seem well-spaced. Might be a touch tight getting to the bathrooms, though, as cases of drinks line the hallway."

"This sandwich and salad shop offers counter service with plenty of seating both inside and outside. It’s conveniently located just a short walk upstairs and across the street from the pedestrian bridge over the Reedy River near Main St/Wyche Pavilion. The exterior signage isn't huge, but the full tables of diners outside made it clear we had found the right place. The menu features a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches and salads, with options that range from classic to creative, all customizable to your liking. Side options include chips, French fries, pasta salad, potato salad, coleslaw, and more. What surprised us the most was the selection of beer. They had a good variety of craft beers in cans and bottles, all reasonably priced at around $4-5. They also serve wine by the glass or bottle, and it was convenient that the beverage options were displayed clearly. After we placed our order, we received a number to put on our table so waitstaff could find us when our food was ready. Initially, we thought it would be helpful to wait for our drinks at the counter, but the staff preferred that patrons be seated and let them serve directly to the table. Our food arrived in a reasonable timeframe—not too quick, but not unreasonably long. We decided to split the Ribeye Philly Cheesesteak, and it looked so delicious when it came that we let the waitstaff leave before requesting an extra plate. Although the servers aren’t constantly walking around, so we did have to walk back to the counter for our initial drinks, the slight inconvenience is more than worth it for the delicious food they’re preparing behind the scenes."

"Good, not great food. Highlights were the chicken in the chicken and waffles. Great light batter, but they were tenders! More details on that comment in my con’s. Biscuit was tasty, but gravy not so much. For the cons. Be clear that they are tenders and not actual chicken pieces, which is what we were hoping for. Thankfully, the batter was amazing and made up for it. The waffles were waffles, nothing special. The maple syrup was bitter. Not hot sauce as they describe, but like black coffee or something. Can’t put my finger on it, but was the first thing to come to mind. The gravy for the biscuits and gravy also had a similar taste of black coffee. Can’t put my finger on it, but nothing like homemade country gravy that I would expect. I usually drench my biscuits with gravy to drown out the dry biscuit, but in this case i ate the biscuit dry and threw out the gravy. If you know me, I love gravy so this is weird. Don’t get me wrong, the gravy wasn’t bad, just not what i expected from country gravy. No sausage flavors, just a little bitter white gravy that I didn’t particularly enjoy. Finally, not as pet friendly as claimed. Outside only and outside sitting is seasonal. Would have been great to know in advance. Would have also been nicer if they were more empathetic. They do pack their food to go well and kept the wet and dry items separate as I asked."

"on Friday at 11 o'clock. a whole jugend baseball team had a brunch on the terrace, so I expected a waiting time. fortunately there were some tables inside and a seat at the bar. I chose the bar as my location for today, so I could look into the kitchen and watch the whole action. a thing I immediately noticed, looked like the whole personal was female. it was really hard to say if I saw all the staff, although they were cudding! I noticed a lot of collaboration and communication. I'm sure they'll make a manager in here. as usual I ordered the traditional benedikt as my Litmus test. it didn't take too long, maybe 10 minutes and out came my brunch. it looked completely, smells really good and the presentation with the perpetrator deaths worked well for this level of kitchen. as usual I cut into one of the small ice cushions of quality and came the liquid gold of a perfectly boiled fried egg. the hollandaise tasted butter and had a little warmth from an prise or kayenne above the top. in any case, my mouth made happy! the tater dead were perfectly cooked and the linkover hollandaise perfectly dissolved. Of course, if I wanted nit pick, I would say that the hollandaise was a bit thin and should have had more taste from the lemon juice, the butter quota was a bit off and was not completely emulsified. the English muffin was slightly understated, but I liked it was a bit bigger, but the eggs had to be extra big to keep this feeling of symmetry. the Canadian speck was not, he was sinking on the flattop cooled. nothing is wrong with a flattop ham. the dead could have used a bit more salt from the kitchen. but don't forget, I don't choose. overall I enjoyed this place, the decor is cute and the personal friendly. they also offer alcohol, from mimosas to **** mary’s, the bar gardeners had a happy morning while I was there. I'll come back here and I'll have the benedikt back. so few places can make it right that if it is so close, they use it."

"Update Still wonderful food. I 've visited numerous times in the last few months, and the food is always terrific! Last night (and every Tuesday night) was Caleb Hoelscher Singer/Songwriter Showcase Weekly Tuesday at 6:30 pm I really enjoyed his music and his guest 's music. They were acoustic, played songs I didn 't know (which I usually don 't enjoy), and were absolutely delightful. They are gifted songwriters. They were so entertaining, not only with their music, but with their great personalities. They weren 't over the top trying to be funny, but they are probably naturally very interesting people, and funny is just part of the entertainment. The music added to the experience and didn 't overtake the experience. My son and I ordered appetizer after appetizer until we couldn 't eat anymore. We started with the wings... smoked then fried. If you like smoked, you 'll love them. Then we had the nachos. Yum! We finished with the quesadillas. Terrific! The service was great, too. I don 't usually comment on the crowd unless I didn 't like the way they behaved, but this crowd was really nice. They appreciated the performers, enjoyed the Astros game, and socialized with each other. It was a terrific experience! I think I 'll go back tonight (Wednesday) for Trivia Night and possibly Friday for the entertainment and drink special. I didn 't mention the large menu of beers; they have a bunch! Parking: There 's parking all down the RR tracks on both sides of the through street. There 's more parking between the restaurant and the furniture store and even more parking on the other side of the furniture store. If the mortgage company building is closed for the night, you can park in their lot, too. Kid friendliness: Lots of kids enjoy this place. There 's plenty of food options they 'll enjoy. Wheelchair accessibility: The curb has lowered spots, and walking into the place has no steps, just a grade from the sidewalk all the way inside. I didn 't see a way that the door would stay open while someone used both hands to get a wheelchair in one their own, but I may have missed it."
