"Let me please introduce myself I 'm a man of wealth and taste And I laid traps for troubadours Who get killed before they reached Bombay (Jagger/Richards) I 've seen this oddly shaped building with an Indian restaurant forever. I finally made my way in for a meal last night. The first thing you see when you walk in is the remnants of their old buffet table. They were known for their lunchtime buffets, but they 're now a thing of the past. The good sized dining room has a tin ceiling, yellow painted walls, and dark brown furniture. As I sat down, a super friendly young guy brought me a complimentary plate of papadum cracker bread with ramekins of onion chutney and tamarind sauce. The tamarind was great, like a thick and sweet Hoisin sauce. Now it was time to check out their daunting five page menu. I wanted to try something different, and the phrase prepared in the Afghan style caught my eye. Since never have I ever tried Afghan food, I went with their $16.95 Chicken Balti. Served with Basmati rice, the menu described it as with peppers, onion and cinnamon . I wasn 't familiar with the word Balti , so I researched it and learned the word means a metal pot from Northern India (near Afghanistan) that cooks the food and is then presented to the table for serving. When I ordered, my young waiter asked if I wanted it spicy, so of course I said yes. In a few minutes out came a bowl of Basmati rice and a Balti pot full of chicken chunks, sliced peppers and onions, in a delicious spicy brown curry. I LOVED my dinner! The curry was delicious, with plenty of the deep flavors I love in Indian food. And yes, it was medium spicy with a nice after-burn. I did think the chicken was a little overcooked, and far from tender. All in all, I loved my dining experience at Bombay. The food and smiling service were excellent."

"When the manager came over to ask about our experience—surprisingly, as our waiter clearly hadn't briefed him—we shared our concerns. He collected our drinks and, while doing so, rudely questioned us about what we wanted instead, claiming that even the new offerings would taste bad since they "come from the same place." The issue wasn’t just the taste of the drinks but that the cups tasted like dirty dish soap. Even after we suggested using paper cups, they continued to serve us in the same dirty glasses. Next came the food order, and again we were rushed. The waiter asked if anyone wanted appetizers; only my friend and I were interested. I hesitated because I was still deciding, but he impatiently said he’d give us more time since nobody seemed ready. I wanted fried sushi, but there were only three options on the menu, and I couldn’t remember the exact name of the one I had liked before. When I finally made a choice that sounded similar, he interrupted me, saying, “That’s raw, just get this one!” and picked a dish for me, which felt incredibly rude. When my cousin discovered a kid's meal option for children under 12, the waiter informed us that it wasn't accepted, prompting my cousin to question why it was on the menu. Eventually, the manager came over again and agreed to honor it this time. They really need to update their menu to prevent misunderstandings like this. Then the chef arrived, and normally, these chefs try to be funny and engaging. However, after witnessing the treatment we received, it was clear our waiter had shared unflattering remarks about us. While the chef attempted to entertain us, my mom noticed a burning smell, which I pointed out was coming from a burnt spot on the grill. The chef dismissed my explanation, insisting the smell was just from the fire. Overall, I was deeply disappointed with the entire experience and have no desire to return. I think the waiter's name was Blake. It’s concerning that it felt like we were treated poorly because of our race; we observed a distinct difference in the waiter's tone with a Caucasian family that arrived after us. My mom enjoys the food enough to order takeout from here regularly, but after this incident, I won't be spending my money there again. Spending $94 for such a disappointing experience is outrageous! I even brought most of my meal home because I didn't enjoy it. It’s sad how people can treat others based on their race, and I hope this message reaches the right people. Goodbye!"

"We came to India Palace Plymouth for their lunch buffet it's a gem! As soon as we entered, our group of four was stunned by the ambience which features a beautiful and clean interior adorned with classical Indian paintings. Coupled with the food, our visit felt like a journey through the flavors and aromas of India.Foodwise, the star of the show is the dry beef, which is hard to come by at Indian restaurants. The beef is marinated in a rich blend of spices and cooked with precision, leading to a melt in your mouth experience which is hard to come by. The Tandoori chicken hit the spot. It's not too spicy and was piping hot. I loved how the roasted onions that garnish the chicken provided a boost of umami flavor. samosa appetizers were also outstandingThe naan bread is a testament to the culinary prowess of their chefs. The variety is impressive, ranging from the classic Garlic Naan, rich and aromatic, to the decadent Peshawari Naan, stuffed with nuts and raisins, offering a delightful contrast of flavors and textures. Each naan is baked to perfection, with a crispy exterior and a soft, fluffy interior that complements the entrees perfectly. Also inspiring are the condiments. Each condiment, from the tangy mint chutney to the sweet and spicy mango pickle, is crafted to enhance the flavors of the dishes, adding layers of complexity and depth that elevate the dining experience to new heights.Service at India Palace is nothing short of excellent. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest feels welcome, providing recommendations and insights into the menu that enhance your meal. Their attention to detail and genuine care for the dining experience make a significant difference, contributing to an atmosphere that is warm and inviting."
