"We had a laughably sad and fully regrettable experience. Entrees were so small with little to no sides or garnishes. It was just silly so silly and the sever never let us in on the joke. Ordered a steak and a burger-no bun. Both were listed as entrees. Steak was 2 small slices and they were CHEWY. Steak came with no side, just a small garnish. Burger looked equally ridiculous as it was just patty on a plate with a small bowl of fries on the side. It was quite rare, and topped with a distastefully bitter cheese/caramelized onion/aus jus. We didn’t manage more than a taste each but the server did not notice that we could not eat it despite having maybe a total of 14oz of food between the two of us. Hahaha. Also, we had a reservation for the main floor but was seated in the mostly empty second floor lacking in ambience. Asked if we could be seated on main floor and told there were no tables available. It was 1/2 empty and there were 3 tables empty when we left 1 hour later. What a crappy evening."

"My go-to neighborhood grill (that’s not actually in my neighborhood for many years now. Been open nearly a century. Just good homestyle food at affordable prices. Clean. Friendly. Consistent. Everything you want a little coffee shop to be. Definitely worth going a little out of the way for, and taking an extra minute; as that’s what they also do when they prepare your food, and it shows. This is what Denny’s had tried unsuccessfully to capture; the quintessential small town coffee joint. Thank goodness we still have one. Do yourself a favor. Go try it if you haven’t (and order the biscuits gravy or crunchy French Toast ."

"This is one of my Favorite restaurants to have brunch but i was so upset we went this morning to have breakfast with our family that came over from los angeles and when we got there, they asked for how many it was 10 of us 6 adults and 4 kids wee ask for high chairs and the lady said. Oh, we're not able to put tables together in the cente and i ask for the room that is on the side from the restrooms and her respond was that they had a party already we ask for the room that was on the back and her respond was that some people where gonna have a meeting and that It wasn't a good idea to set us there with the kids. She had space to sit us but We felt right away. She didn't want to wee are hispanic and we felt discriminated so sad but after this i wont go back to this place"

"This is a great hidden gem in Coal City. This easy to pass location offers quite a surprise once viewing the menu.the small but mighty location offers a ton of tantalizing and hearty selections. Obviously made from fresh ingredients, the food is delivered rather quick and hot. The side of onion rings were quite the interesting surprise to me. Everything in the location is photogenic and meticulously plated until you get to the rings. The simplicity on the plate gives you no hint to the crunchy delight you are about to have. I swear, you’ll sound like you are eating a bag of potato chips but once you get through the crispy and not greasy shell, the onion remains (insert another word for moist here— haha . The half pound multi-textured burger was super thick and loaded with the fresh mushrooms promised when ordering the cowboy burger. The chewy bacon and toasted bun added to the layers of flavors. The pork tenderloin sandwich was also a crispy hit, I’m told. I never veered from my burger to try the pork tenderloin sandwich across the table. I do have to mention that’s neighboring table ordered the Vesuvio and it looked amazing and she said it was better than it looked. Pepsi products are served and only one refill is allowed. "I grew up eating browns, it'll always hold a special place in my heart. Food is always good. There's the classics, then there's dishes they get creative with. Everything is always minimum good. Their various bowls are very good. The buffalo chicken mac and cheese is my latest favorite. I just started going to this one in Naperville on my lunch breaks and it's clean and well maintained. No complaints really."

"Met friends here to have a good time. Which we did however I was excited to try the fried pickles yet the ranch they served tasted rancid. I don't know what they put in it or if it was just bad. But it was horrible. The pickles were seasoned great though. I had a chicken wrap. It was ok, nothing to wow about. The pub was crowded, it seemed like a popular place. "I visited this restaurant for the first time, drawn in by the stunning photos, but unfortunately, the food was a major letdown. Everything looked great, but it was completely devoid of taste or flavor. I ordered a side of spaghetti for $15, and it arrived swimming in watery butter, with a sauce that tasted like it came from a can, mixed with something that resembled cologne. The salmon, while it looked nice, was served without lemon, salt, or any seasoning at all. I've never had fried shrimp that had zero flavor—not even a hint of oil! To top it off, the food was cold when it arrived. We weren't late; we had to wait for our meal after we arrived. Overall, it was a disappointing experience."

"I had a fantastic experience on my first visit while heading to see friends. The fish and chips and the beef-drip sandwich were both delicious. The fish was perfectly fluffy, and the beer batter was light and didn’t overpower the fish. The French fries were excellent as well! They also offer fresh tartar sauce and fry sauce. Instead, they gave me asparagus. Your only vegetable. They didn't notice that my water glass was empty and I had to request it. Backless benches to sit in the tavern / bar, but you can request an uncomfortable chair. Not a place where you, like me, eat a lot of healthy protein and vegetables. I don't like leaving a restaurant where I feel bloated with too much food, but I don't want to go hungry either. The coffee was good after the meal."
