"Ok, so we had high expectations coming in. This place is very hyped up. We managed to snag last minute reservations for 530pm on a Monday. We were very impressed with the service. Very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. It was our babymoon, and the menu itself said Happy babymoon , which was a special touch. Food wise, we 're giving Husk 3/5 stars because it really didn 't knock our socks off. In fact, we only liked 3 out of the 5 dishes we ordered. Out of those, we only really highly recommend 1. Here 's what we got, starting with the dishes we liked the best: #1: Broadbent country ham, buttermilk biscuits, husk pickles, lusty monk mustard YUM. Like a southern charcuterie board, as it was described by our server. #2: Cornmeal fried catfish, white cheddar grits, collard greens this was really good too, but not something I would feel compelled to order again. The catfish by itself was okay, but a bite with the catfish, grits, and collard greens together was wonderful! #3: Sweet potato bread pudding with toasted marshmallow too sweet for me, but my husband really liked it. #4: Lamb dumplings, okra, chermulah honey yogurt, pecan dukkah did not like these, and they weren 't particularly hot when they came out. Strange because this one came highly recommended by our server. #5: Hearth baked skillet cornbread, broadbent 's bacon crumble how could this not be good???? But it really wasn 't. It was dry and had very little flavor. We didn 't finish this, which is very unlike us."

"We came here for dinner recently and I was so disappointed with so many aspects of a restaurant that really seemed like they were going to be great. First off, one of our party was running late that was on us, however the restaurant was NOT busy in the slightest, so the fact that our server was a bit testy about it and refused to answer any questions or explain anything about the menu until our full party was present just rude, given that we could have been making decisions to expedite the ordering process while our last member arrived. So that was the first problem. The second problem was that the menu is meant to be a tasting menu, lots of small plates to share that sounds nice, yeah? Except that in that situation it can be hard to tell exactly how much food you will be ordering especially if it 's your first time at the venue. Our waiter expected us to be able to prognosticate exactly how many dishes we were going to be ordering and got testy when I said let 's start with these dishes and then see . Next problem was that They have a number of (quite) fancy cocktails on their house cocktail menu which is fine, although they were quite expensive but when we ordered a more classic cocktail for one of our party who wasn 't as interested in trying some of the more complex cocktails we were charged a service fee (per drink) making the simpler, classic cocktail more expensive than the bougie ones. Let 's talk about the food. The food was (mostly) delicious. The fish sticks, which were recommended by the waiter, are a hard pass if we are ever unfortunate enough to eat here again I 've literally had better tasting from Trader Joes but the milk bread was quite good and some of the other items we had were good. But the portion sizes were ... woof. So small. Especially for the price. I get that they 're small plates, but I kid you not, we likely spent $30 or so on less than a whole tomato on TWO plates where tomato was one of the main ingredients and we were given exactly two slices of toast with one dipping plate for FOUR people dining. (And then we were charged for more toast when we asked for more) I expected a lot better. Definitely not worth it and will not be coming back. Edit to add I forgot to mention that after our last dish we ended up sitting for a very long time on the dark patio (there was no proper lighting to speak of) for our server to come check on us and see if we wanted dessert. Eventually one of our party had to go find our server and request our check be brought out to us by this point we were too tired and irritated to consider dessert."

"EDIT: Happy Cow apparently doesn't allow 5 star reviews of non veg cafes, which is kinda BS IMO. I'd give 5 stars if I could. Alcehemy is 95% veg. I just happened to stumble across Alchemy online the other day. I'd never heard of it, or never noticed it I should probably say. It grabbed my attention though, so I decided to check it out with the wife yesterday (I'm vegan and she's vegetarian and like 98% gluten free FYI). The inside of the cafe looks good, and personally I enjoyed the chill music being played. We went on Sunday afternoon and barely anyone was there, so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The staff was very friendly and patiently answered all our questions, since it was our first time there we had a few. We ended up ordering quite a bit haha. Too start, my wife got the tomato bisque soup, and she absolutely loved it, and I thought it was quite creamy and tasty as well. I grabbed some curried chickpea salad, and oh... my... god... it was phenomenal. It reminded me of real potato salad, but chickpeas instead. Alexis, the co-founder of Alchemy, was there and after telling her how much I loved the chickpeas, she gave me her card for her website Hummusapien, which includes her recipe for the curried chickpea salad. I thought that was very kind of her. We each also got smoothies. I ordered the snickerdoodle and my wife got the peanut butter. I think I preferred the peanut butter, but both were good. These were the best smoothies I've ever had at a healthy/vegan cafe/restaurant. Usually they are really thick and heavy, but Alchemy uses a good amount of almond milk to really lighten them up a bit, which I prefer. For sandwiches, I got the bean burger (which didn't tasty very beany at all surprisingly). It came with a zesty' cashew mayo, and I think zesty is the right word. It wasn't too spicy or tangy, but had a good amount of... well, zest. My wife got the hummus and hemp pesto sandwich, which was creamy and crunchy, definitely what I want to order next time. Finally, we got a couple of the peanut butter no-bake cookie ball thingies. I thought they were good, the wife didn't care for them as much though. All in all, Alchemy is a spectacular find for us. We live in Grove City, so it's nice to have a place to go that isn't all the way on the north side of Columbus for a change. We will for sure be coming back. I hope Alchemy is doing well financially, because as a vegan, it's great to see vegan/mostly vegan places like this exist"

"I booked this afternoon tea to take my daughter out for a treat. When we arrived it was so busy and our table was not ready. When we were taken to our table it was not ready and mistook us for a table of 6 even though there was just us two standing there. We waited again and finally got to our table late. We got our tea and cakes and left to our own devices. We did not speak to anyone again and I had to flag down our server to get me a box and tell her we were done. She brought the box and I expected to get the bill at that time. We waited for 30 more mins and still did not see her so I got up to ask another server if I could pay, she said she would get our server. She didn’t come and then 10 more mins went by and she showed someone else to the table next to me and I tried to get her attention but she looked away and went back down stairs. I got up and went downstairs so I could pay. Our server was on the till helping someone so I lined up for 10 more mins and another person on the till asked to help me so I explained I wanted to pay and she said sorry you will have to wait for your server. I got back in line and waited for the customer in front to be done and when I finally got to the till my server did not acknowledge my long wait or anything. It was 50 mins from the time I got the box till I paid and left. I realize the place was busy but paying $40 per person for this tea, I would have expected better or at least any service. If you don’t have the staff to look after these afternoon tea customers then you shouldn’t be offering it. I am very disappointed in what should have been a lovely afternoon spent with my daughter."

"My husband treated me to dinner for my birthday tonight. We were super psyched to try The Cabin as we had heard good things about it. Too bad we were disappointed. This is a family restaurant with lots of young kids so not ideal for a quiet romantic meal. The food was great for the appetizer course. Hubby had the seafood Zuppa which was delish, I had the scallops which were cooked to perfection. Then it was all downhill from there. The entrees took 45 minutes to come out-I ordered the tenderloin medium rare, hubby ordered the lamb, medium well. My tenderloin was ice cold in the middle and inedible. After flagging down our server (Alexandra), she was very apologetic and took it back to heat up. After another 30 minutes it finally came but by then I was over it and not hungry any more so I just asked for the desert menu hoping to get my favourite creme brûlée, which was on their online menu but to my disappointment it was not on the menu tonight. My husband asked if they had it and Alexandra explained that they had it in the restaurant downstairs and she could have one brought up for me. I said if it was going to take long not to bother as we had already been there for over 2 hours and had had enough of a wait. She promised it would not take long so I was appreciative that she would go the extra mile to try to make things right. Well another 30 minutes go by during which time I see my special order desert with a candle go by- to another table. Finally Alexandra came by to explain my crime brûlée was taken by someone else and they were going to get another one. This was the icing on the cake and we just said thanks but no thanks and called it a night. I’m pretty sure it was just my dumb birthday luck that they couldn’t get it right for us because all the tables around us came and went seemingly without issues. Overall the food was tasty but cold, service was friendly but very slow. Would not chance it again at this place though. Not a great bd dinner for me. Too bad"
