"Upon entering the deli, I was greeted by a strong smell of cleaning solution that was almost overpowering, reminiscent of a bathroom. It was somewhat irritating to my senses. I did arrive at 2:35 PM, just 25 minutes before closing, so they might have been in a rush to tidy up. (A suggestion for management: consider switching to an odorless cleaning solution and follow the dilution recommendations.)
Once I got past the smell, I was met with incredibly friendly employees who welcomed me with warm smiles and provided excellent service. I ordered the Murphy's French Dip, a brownie, and a large soda for $11.95 before tip, which seemed quite reasonable. The sandwich arrived with a smile, nicely wrapped in deli paper. It came on a fresh ciabatta roll topped with Swiss cheese and a good portion of beef. While it wasn't overly generous, it was certainly not skimped on either. The flavor was quite tasty, even with the lingering scent of cleaning solution.
The self-service soda fountain with free refills was a nice perk, especially since I enjoy Coke Zero. They mixed it just right here—not too diluted like many places do to save on syrup. As for the decor, it felt rather generic, as if it had been pulled from a box, but the deli was exceptionally clean—definitely ready for a Marine Corps inspection.
Would I go back? Probably not. However, if Murphy's were located in my office building, I would be thrilled!"
