"We made reservations an hour before we arrived in Salem. When we walked in, most of the tables and all of the outside dining was empty. That should have clued us in to the type of meal we would get. We chose to continue. The waitress was lackluster at best. They did accommodate our group of 6 by putting 2 tables together but as the entire restaurant only had a few people I’d have been surprised if they hadn’t. The tavern only had a few entrees but we did select the tots from the appetizer menu. It was the only thing we enjoyed. The chicken pasta was fatty and chewy. My daughter’s cheeseburger kids meal had so much grease dripping off of it the bottom bun was soaked. The meat on my husband’s burger looked undercooked in some places and dry in others. It was fairly confusing! We ended up leaving fairly soon after getting our food. They did remove my daughter’s meal but we (the 4 adults) all left dissatisfied as well. We finally asked for the check and while our server got it to us fairly quickly, she left and didn’t come back. It seemed that with so many empty tables, the servers and hostess all were chatting it up in the front. We just left cash on the table and walked out. : We’re now off to order pizza in our hotel while the kids swim. For a $95 dollar meal, it sure feels like we were ripped off."
