"We went because my husband wanted catfish and grits for his birthday breakfast. Our breakfast was total garbage. Wasted $40 oh well. Lesson learned. People didn't get food next to us. They waited an hour. Server didn't care. Grits were lumpy and watery fish had no flavor. His eggs were full of shells. I got chicken fried steak and eggs. The chicken fried steak was old and burnt covered in gravy so you couldn't see. The cappuccino taste like the instant coffee you get from a can. If you can't make it don't offer it. Atmosphere was awful and on top of that there was no air circulation. Yes I understand it was 100 today but yall need to do better. I'm very upset about this. We will never be back."

"It's been a while since I visited Family Affair Restaurant in Freeport, Illinois. Whenever I'm back home, I make it a point to check out a local spot. The food is incredible, and my favorite dish has always been their skillful preparations. This time I went with the chorizo, which added the perfect seasoning! For just under $20, I got two eggs with a choice of pancakes, crepes, or toast, along with two cups of coffee. The Kurb-Reiz still has a hint of the old Long John Silver's atmosphere, but that's where the comparison ends."

"I had never been to Feast before despite driving by many times. A close friend chose Feast for her birthday dinner. It seems clear that Feast is trying to offer a fine dining experience. Indeed the atmosphere and service all fit that rubric. However the food was simply not worthy of the prices in my opinion. The one stand out was the lobster bread pudding which was excellent. The other main meals were simply average. The duck with pancake was bizarre tasting, the salmon with noodles quite boring and ahi tuna with rice was just plain. I had an enjoyable evening due to great company and good servers. However I left feeling the meal was a poor value considering the relatively high prices and relatively lack of deliciousness."
