"This place is a gem! We just arrived in the area for my husband’s job at Los Alamos National Lab. We randomly ended up at this restaurant and are so happy that we did. We walked in and were in love with the brightly painted festive atmosphere. Upon sitting we were immediately served chips with refried beans and two types of Pico De Gallo. The beans were flavorful and the Pico De Gallo was fresh. There was regular Pico De Gallo and also another delicious type that I had never encountered. The kind and attentive waitress informed us that it was made with avocado and cream. For my meal, I had the Tostadas De Ceviche. They were awesome and included a lot of fresh veggies and avocado. Super healthy. Not sure what my husband had but I stole some corn off of his plate and it was amazing. My glass of wine was filled to the brim (literally but this place also felt super family-friendly. If you are in the area, don’t miss out on this place!"

"You know you are in a good, authentic place when the food literally transports you to your grandmother's house when you were a child. The black bean soup had this fantastic combination of ingredients that I have not found anywhere but in my grandma's kitchen. That soup, by itself, was worth the trip. The sword fish appetizer was very good and the pisco sour was fantastic (I know, pisco sour is not Mexican, but in any case, it was very refreshing and perfectly mixed). Price wise, well you are in NYC ... 'nough said."

"Anniversary dinner with our two children, 8 and 10. We decided to sit out on the porch on a fairly humid June evening and the ceiling fans made for a nice breeze. We find most of the restaurants are overly air-conditioned, but Metro 8 didn't seem like a fridge even when we came in - that's a big plus for me! Our waitress was very nice and attentive without interfering. She commented that it was nice to see children with books (and math in our conversation) instead of iPads. The steaks my husband and I ordered were as stated and delicious. So were the pages. Our girls loved their grilled chicken. Cocktails were good and just the right strength. Highly recommended."

"Exceptional food in an authentic, non-demanding environment. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful, which added to the great experience. For bread lovers, there are 3 different breads, all of which are made there and are all wonderful. I stop on the way out of town to pick up bread and take it home to friends. My salad was fabulous and the vodka chicken pasta (a specialty) was cooked perfectly with a wonderful sauce. The specials change with the seasons. Desserts are all made there and everyone looked great. We share the ice cream on Sunday with homemade caramelized marshmallows and chocolate ganache. It was wonderful. You can share it with 4 people as it is very large. We will definitely have dinner here again when we return to Mayo and Golf."

They offer 3 different types of bread, all made in-house and delicious. I always make sure to stop by on my way out of town to grab some bread for my friends. The salad was fantastic and the vodka chicken pasta (a house specialty) was cooked perfectly with a tasty sauce. The seasonal specials keep things interesting. All desserts are made in-house and looked amazing. We shared the ice cream sundae with homemade caramelized marshmallows and chocolate ganache, which was a delightful treat big enough for 4 people to share. We will definitely be returning for dinner when we come back to Mayo and Golf."

"Every time we go, the Karaoke DJ ?gives preferences to the people who always arrive, and those of us who go from time to time don't let us participate. It's the third time, and he says he didn't have a chance to play my song. The truth is, we won't be back. to go It is disappointing that I signed up first than others to sing my song and I saw others pass by who arrived later. I could also see how he fixes the sound for some and not for all, the music is too loud and the person singing cannot be heard well and I am not saying that for myself but for everyone, some can be heard well and others ? bad slingshot and the food ? terrible. Change the DJ it doesn't work"
