"However, the service was abysmal. There was a young man working the front who had such a poor attitude that it felt like he was ready to burn the place down. When taking our order, he refused to bring bread, even though he was serving it to other tables. He asked for our meal choices before offering drinks, and his demeanor was insulting and odd. When we inquired about whether the branzino contained bones, he changed his answer three times, eventually admitting he didn’t know what branzino was, and suggested salmon with a smirk. Little did he know, we’re a family of chefs and we encourage this restaurant to hire someone more knowledgeable instead of him. His behavior was truly bizarre. We wondered if it had anything to do with our being Arab. Fortunately, another woman and a man came to assist us, and they were wonderful. Perhaps the original server was uncomfortable serving people with medium to dark skin? The new waitstaff also took a while to bring the bread, only delivering it after our third request, while another table enjoyed theirs. Eventually, we received cold rustic bread with cold butter, unlike the oil dip offered to the white couple at the next table. In the end, we left our usual tip of 25%, but we hope this establishment will provide some training to their staff soon. Overall, it's a charming restaurant with good ambiance and food, but the service could easily bring it down by two stars."

"I have eaten at Woody's many times but this is my first review of it. If you follow me, you will remember that I am partial to Prime Rib. Just like the Chicken Fried Steak is the touchstone of any Diner, so is the Prime Rib for any Fine Dining restaurant. The thing is, Woody's is more of a Roadhouse, but their Prime Rib can compete with those white tablecloth establishments. Woody's offers Prime Rib Dinners on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only and only after 4:00 PM. The portion served is huge (see my photo and is accompanied by a big baked potato, au jus, and horseradish sauce. (If I had to fault the plate, it would be that they do not include a vegetable but, frankly, there is more than enough to satisfy almost any appetite. The meat was tender and juicy and cooked spot on to my preferred doneness of medium rare. Woody's coats the roast with a peppery dry rub, which is a perfect complement to the meat. The price (as of this writing is $24.99, and has not risen since before COVID. To their credit, unlike many places, Woody's does not tack on a surcharge. I added a small green salad (bleu cheese dressing, of course and an Arnold Palmer to drink (free refills , bringing my tab to $32.47, not including a 25% tip. Three cheers to Woody's for offering a 10% discount to active and retired military, police, and fire personnel. (Please note: This discount can only be applied to regular menu items and, since it is a week end special, the Prime Rib is not eligible. By the way, Woody's has a very complete menu, so don't be put off if you're not a carnivore. I have never had a bad meal or a poor experience at Woody's so, with confidence, I can say that Woody's is Highly Recommended."

"Finally had the chance to dine at The Bootlegger Italian Bistro in Las Vegas. This place has a rich history that dates back to the early 1900s, when the grandparents of Chef Maria Perry migrated from Italy to Canada and became known as The Bootlegger for serving homemade wine during the prohibition era. Chef Maria and her husband Al Perry moved to Las Vegas in 1943 and opened their first restaurant in 1949, serving the legends of Hollywood and Las Vegas such as Howard Hughes, Frank Sinatra, Liberace, Elvis Presley and many others. Their daughter Lorraine, a singer and entertainer, joined them in 1972 to build The Bootlegger on her land at Tropicana and Eastern. Today, four generations of this dedicated Italian family continue the legacy of providing the finest food, drink, hospitality and entertainment to their guests. The service was impeccable. Our server was smooooth, absolutely loved him he was friendly, attentive and witty. He recommended some of the best dishes on the menu, such as the Burrata. He also brought us some of the panetti italiana (garlic bread) with dipping sauce, so delicious. He made sure that our drinks were always refilled and that we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful and cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and satisfying. For dessert, we had the chocolate cake which was heavenly. The Bootlegger Italian Bistro is a historic Las Vegas landmark that offers a great dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and elegant, with photos of celebrities and memorabilia on the walls. The live music is entertaining and lively. The prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves authentic Italian cuisine and wants to enjoy a taste of old Vegas."
