"Exquisite classic French cuisine just south of Short Pump. You’ll not find a better French spot if you’re looking for the genuine experience. Top notch food and service in a 20 year established restaurant. TLDR: Best escargot in RVA. Classic French cuisine with award winning service in a slightly dated but ultimately permeable and secluded atmosphere. Fantastic wine list and beautifully mixed cocktails. 2 appetizers, 1 cocktail, 1 bottle of $130 wine (half off on Sundays), 2 entrees, 2 desserts all for $300 with a 20% tip. Worth it! Food: The chef has the French style down! We enjoyed escargot and tuna tartare as appetizers. The snails were incredibly good. Butter, garlic, and rosemary compliments the protein while a beautiful olive oil flavor persists afterwards. Tuna was the exact opposite with fresh cool tuna delicately seasoned to focus on the fish. Both were exemplary. My spouse love the whole sole fish filleted table side. Lovely garlic butter sauce compliments the fish. I enjoyed the lamb. It was prepared medium rare and was very tasteful. I should have salted it (personal preference) to further make the glaze pop. Drinks: Easily a top three whiskey sour in RVA. They know what they are doing. We really liked the bottle of Pinot noir we got. More so as it was half off (any bottle under 150) on Sundays. Service: They recently won best service in RVA. Not only do they understand the full menu and it’s intricacies but they cared for the table and your experience at all time. Every crumb was collected, drinks were topped at all times, they listened to your input and questions, and even folded/presented placements when you left for the restroom. The rest of the wine is preventing me from recalling the charming gentleman that cared for us. Thank you! Dessert: Cheesecake was super creamy and had everything a cheesecake could ask. Enjoyed the lava cake. Which, if you’re a fan of this style of dessert you will not be willing to share!"
