"The special apps, the drinks, and the rolls were all delightful. The Chefs Special Sashimi and the Mango Cheesecake were both misses. The couple of the Sashimi tasted and smelled not fresh, when we mentioned to our server about this (we didn 't finish those pieces) we explained the issue and her response was "oh well those are just the type of fish (mackerel and albacore tuna). Those are both white fish, and not sushi/sashimi grade, I mentioned this to her and suggested that chef pick new options going forward. The Mango cheesecake came covered in chocolate sauce and strawberries that over powered and masked the taste of the cheesecake. The service was very baseline. She seemed more interested in getting us out the door so she could leave. (We came in after a concert. Arriving at 10PM) Finally there is a club attached to the restaurant (a fake wall separates the 2 spaces) and the house music which I liked, was turned up really loud at 10:30PM making conversation difficult. We will likely not return to the Red Lantern on future Foxwood visits and opt for one of the many other food choices."
