"I wish there was an option for 10 stars!! My wife and I are from Rhode Island/ Massachusetts traveling on our honeymoon. We are staying here in Wasilla and as one can imagine, we have been trying different local restaurants during our tenure. We typically set the bar lower than usual when traveling when it comes to food. Admittedly we ended up at Meta Rose after a few calls to other restaurants went unanswered so truthfully it was just a roll of the dice. We called, they answered plain and simple. We went down and were greeted by a lovely young woman by the name of Katie (who would become our waitress/ caretaker for the evening). Immediately we were struck by how beautiful the atmosphere was as well as how cleanly it was. A mostly traditional menu void of any curveballs or overly complicated dishes was a breath of fresh air. For me, the ribeye. For her, the “dirty” chicken Alfredo along with a French onion soup for each of us. From the moment we laid eyes on the soup and its presentation we knew we were in good hands. Soup was easily 10/10 and checked all the boxes. Then came the entrees absolutely gleaming and matching what one would imagine when ruminating on what they would WANT each dish to look like. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by a delicious ensemble of mashed and veg. However, the showpiece was the Alfredo.. Twas truly the fettuccine alfredo that you always WANT but NEVER get. Usually it’s devoid of flavor and sad but this??? This… This was something else. The verdict: we stumbled upon the best fettuccini Alfredo in the United States tonight in Wasilla. It absolutely blew our minds. I couldn’t wait for my wife to put the fork down so I could slide her plate my way. After this adventure through flavor land we ordered a chocolate torte for dessert. I asked for a spoon of ice cream on top (a custom job). Upon arrival to the table, we saw a beautiful chocolate torte accompanied by a bowl with ice cream in it. While most waitresses serving multiple tables would come back to the table empty handed and deliver the bad news, Katie informed us that they had run out of ice cream so she ran upstairs to an ice cream parlor and got us a bowl of ice cream from them that is specific to Alaska. As you can imagine, it was delicious. I’m sorry for such a long review but truthfully, there isn’t enough positive things I can say about this establishment. To the chefs, keep on keeping on. To Katie, thank you so very much for your hospitality, and finally to Katie’s manager/ owner, you have got an amazing employee here with a heart of gold. I’d be honored to have her as a part of my team, never let her go. The only downside to this experience is that I now will have to work twice as hard so I can afford my own private jet to fly me back 10 hours to Wasilla whenever I have a hankering for fettuccini alfredo because simply put, nothing will compare to this. If I am lucky enough to return to Alaska I will be sure to stop in and see our friends at the Meta. Bravo bravo bravo!!!!"
