"I prefer my burgers to have just a hint of pink (rare to medium-rare), but I've had to cut back lately. The Loop's Swiss burger with extra onions is always cooked just right. In fact, it's become a go-to post-surgery meal for me. Most doctors recommend waiting to eat after surgery, but I've found that doesn't apply to me. Whenever I head into the operating room, I ask my wife to grab my usual so I can savor it as soon as I wake up. Every time, the nurse or doctor tries to tell me I can't eat after surgery! I remind them that I know my body, and I can definitely enjoy my Loop and Swiss!
Our family was really bummed when the San Pablo Loop location closed. That was a tough day for Loop fans! I struggle with bad knees, waking up feeling like Frankenstein's monster. LOL! I'm still too young for replacements, so I just get an annual "tune-up" to keep moving. My order never changes, and my wife even knows what to get me without asking. What a wonderful woman she is!
I also had a liver transplant in 2008, and the doctors didn't approve of my usual post-op meal, but I told them, "You took something out, so I can put something back, right?" They laughed, and I got my favorite meal anyway. Hospital food is terrible, after all! This should say enough about how fantastic the burgers and onion rings are at The Loop, so get out there and give them a try!"
