"I love that there are options, but their hope is that the server is familiar with these menu options. I ordered from the vegan menu..the edemame with their homemade sriracha and soy glaze, the dish was first served with simple, dry edemame. I asked our server if this could be fixed, he verified that I ordered the vegan edemame, and I was brought back a bowl edemame with some oil and salt. I then ordered the veggie southwest chipotle tofu salad, this should contain mais and black bohnensalsa, but rather had a few black bohnensalsa inseated. it was very disappointing. updated by previous review on 2022-02-18"

"We had an amazing meal, I can’t say enough about how good the food was. Upon our arrival I was skeptical as to what we were in for. We sat down and right away I noticed the table was dirty. There was a blackish brown smear in front of me and I got scared then I opened the menu and there were stains on the menu and I got a little more scared. After a great intro to the restaurant from the waiter, Matt, I was a little more at ease because he knew what he was doing and what he was talking about. I then asked my guests if they noticed the floor was a little sticky which they both said it wasn’t just me. We ordered way too much food for 3 people and Matt made sure that we all got a bite of each dish even though some only came with 2 bites. Every single dish that came out was perfect. Every bite was just as good if not better than the last. The start of this review should not deter you from trying this gem on 309. Order everything and I mean everything, From A5 wagyu to Uni every single thing we ate was amazing. We will be back as soon as we can afford to go. Four hundred and sixty six dollars is a lot of money to spend on dinner for 3 but with one hundred of that going to wine alone it was well worth it. I can’t wait to go back and see Matt to ask him ridiculous questions that some how he knew all the answers to. I have told a lot of people about our meal and some have been there for the hibachi, we were in the restaurant but everyone I talked to that had been there said the same thing that it is a hidden gem in the suburbs. Try Ooka, you will not be disappointed."

"A real gem in the neighborhood I wouldn't expect to find a decent sushi place. But, sushi here us amazing!!! The fish is very fresh and everything I've had here was absolutelly amazing. My favorite lunch place, gets crowded at night as locals know about it. Nit a fancy place and prices are in the mid-range, lunch runs at about $25-30 if you order sushi rolls. But they also have lunch combos for less. Give this place a try!!"

"This is the kind of overpriced place where you take your boomer great aunt when she wants to brag about how cultured she is. I didn't spit it out, but the rice was dry, the sushi bland, the Wasabi was a disturbingly florescent green, and the tea and miso soup was largely chalky in taste. The atmosphere is that of a higher end sushi establishment with the food quality I'd expect out of a stop and shop pre-made section... unfortunately the price reflects the former. There are other sushi places near by that will give you a much bigger bang for your buck don't let the shiny decorations fool you"

"NEVER AGAIN! I have lived a long time and I have never experienced such a bait and switch as this place. We ordered our food and when it came time to pay, the bill was 4 dollars more on one of the items. We informed the waitress and she told us that they have a policy that prices are subject to change according to the market. She was able to point out that it was indeed written in small font at the bottom of the menu. However, there was no explanation as to what, when, or why the new price would apply. It certainly did not list the item that we ordered as 39.95. It was listed on the menu for 35.95. So who is to stop them from up charging whatever they want, whenever they want? Their system is ludicrous and they explained that they kept having to order new menus so they just put that little blurb in about prices can change without notice. We suggested a digital menu if they need to be so cheap! Welcome to owning a business where your expenses fluctuate!!!! The waitress had to call the owner to have it corrected because we flat out refused to pay the difference. Not a relaxing or enjoyable dining experience and I do not enjoy someone trying to take advantage of me!! NEVER AGAIN!!!!"

"I left the restaurant still hungry due to the small portion sizes. While the atmosphere was upscale, the flavors were lacking. "Pisces continues to be the frontrunner for sushi in the Lake Norman area. They consistently have the freshest fish, creative offerings and outstanding choices for those who are land lovers such as the wagyu burger or the Moco Loco. The service is attentive with suggestions being made to those who are new to the world of sushi. Their outdoor seating area is hip and one of my faves for happy hour with clients or friends. The entire outfit is professh and accomodating...so much so that after a few requests to look into a more robust cabernet offering, my wish was granted and last night I had 2 glasses of their new Herdsman Cab...silky, long finish and DELISH! "I had a fantastic dinner at Ru Sans in Rome with my husband, Bobby Cornell-Stevens, and friends Mary Causby Evans, Gerald Evans, Timothy Kelley-Hale, and Bradley Kelley-Hale. I want to publicly declare my newfound love for Ru Sans! Up until today, I was quite vocal about my dislike for this place and was hesitant to come. However, I decided to give it a shot, and I’m so glad I did! This was the best hibachi I've ever had, and the portions are enormous—one order is plenty for two people, with leftovers to spare! "I would skip this place if you can. There is no transparency in their ingredients. I had been there several times and was told the tempura is vegan because they don't add eggs to it. During a vegan meetup, we were ensured there were no eggs in it except we had a thoughtful server who decided to ask just to (triple) check. He comes back and tells us the flour itself has whey and dried eggs in it which means all the other times I visited, the servers did not check the ingredients on the flour. Their vegetarian miso soup is NOT vegetarian and contains fish products. For vegetarians and those okay with eating eggs/dairy, it's convenient that there is a vegetarian menu. And while their effort is appreciated, I'll go to another place with servers that check ingredients for customers."

"I visited yesterday for lunch, and the kind owner made sure to check on me and my dogs while I ordered some grilled chicken for them since we were quite a distance from home after hiking in PV. I also had the fried oysters again, which were delicious, and the sushi was fantastic! I had a craving for sushi, and having been here before, I knew the food would be good. Today did not disappoint – the salmon sushi was fresh, and the fried oysters were simply amazing. The service was excellent, and I really appreciated that they were accommodating of my emotional support dog sitting with me at the outdoor dining area. Thank you!"

"My family and I have been dining at Haru Sushi (now known as IchiUmi Sushi) for the past three years. We first discovered this restaurant when the pandemic began and we were craving fresh, high-quality sushi to enjoy at home. Haru offered delicious fish and sides at reasonable prices, with generous portions that satisfied our appetites. The bento boxes came with cute little sides that fulfilled our warm, crunchy, and pickle cravings. The balance of flavors was exceptional, leaving us full and satisfied. The sashimi and sushi platters were always a hit, accompanied by a variety of wonderful side dishes that provided a nice break from the fish. Some of our favorite sides included the brussel sprouts and shrimp udon salad, which were so delicious that we sometimes order them even when dining at a sushi restaurant. Despite the restaurant changing names multiple times, the prices have consistently been fair for the amount and quality of food you receive. I highly recommend this restaurant for special occasions or a casual lunch, as the food is perfect for a picnic. The only downside we have experienced is the inconsistent service during dine-in visits, with one waitress being very nice while another waiter was rude."

"When I and my guests walked in, I immediately noticed people looking at us and what made it more uncomfortable their eyes followed us all the way to our seats. I looked back at them finally after I sat down and they stopped. Then the waitress came by and I tried being a little humorous, but she wasn't going with it. I then decided to just be normal with the waiters because I inferred that they were just being professional. The waiters took a while to refill our cups. Our initial waitress argued with me that there was no Rootbeer soda when I had just gotten a refill from another waiter. She even had the nerve to tell me that I didn't know what I was drinking. My initial drink was sweet tea, but she said they only served unsweet. I then decided to mix the unsweet with the sweet soda. I told her to serve a bit of tea and add the rest sprite soda. The cup came back very dark and tasted like unsweet tea. It should have been a very light brown if she had done it right. Then I'm told there was military discount and I ask if it was per person or per ticket or if there was another method. I was told no, which was okay. After a while, I am told there is no military discount at all. This is San Antonio Tx and I strongly believe there should be military discounts all over this great military city. I then tasted the food and if not for the extra sauce that was brought to me; I wouldn't have eaten it. The sushi at Chopstix, for me, tasted better than the ones I ordered there. I then got the bill and noticed an added 18% gratuity charge. It was just 4 of us there. The service was bad and the food wasn't very good. I will never return there. So disappointed with this place. UPDATE: AUG. 7 2021 The manager spoke with me and paid me back the wrongful gratuity charge. She told me we could actually let the waiters knows how to cook the items on the menu to better suit our wants. She apologized for the treatment we were given. I changed from 1 star to 3 stars. I am hoping that military discount becomes a reality there and that we get treated better next time we go. This place has a lot of potential and I hope to give it a whopping 5 stars soon."

"What an enjoyable experience! The igloos are incredibly cozy, adorned with lights, furry chair covers, blankets, heaters, and other charming decor suitable for an igloo. We were served by Anthony, who was outstanding—responsive, accommodating, quick, and fun. Fortunately, our reservation fell on a warm early spring evening, so we had to open the windows, but we’re looking forward to returning when it’s a bit cooler to take full advantage of the igloo ambiance. The food at Crave is consistently excellent, and this evening was no exception."

"We've lived in Oceanside for several years and only recently found this gem of a place. Its right down the street from us in what is unfortunately strip mall. Nevertheless, once inside you forget about that. The interior is simple but clean. The service was very friendly and attentive. Our wait to be seated was short but gave enough time to peruse the menu posted on the exterior window. Our order was taken by a very friendly waitress. We order 4 sushi platters. They arrived in no more than 15 min. Everything tasted fresh and D... delicious. Between our party if 3 we left very satisfied and full. Great food at a reasonable price. I definitely recommend this place to whom ever I can. I just hope we can still find a seat on a Friday night."

"Sushi itself was good, but the sides were not. Tempura was soggy and edamame was under salted. Service was seriously lacking for the first half of our meal. Thought they'd forgotten we were there they took so long to take our order. Then the food came super fast and all at once. Was very weird. In general, was fine but not worth going back to. The lunch prices looked way better, so maybe a better lunch spot."

"The food at this restaurant is excessively priced for the quality offered. My husband's soup portion was far from a proper serving. I ordered the seaweed salad, which was dry and lacked flavor, while the spring rolls were overly greasy and fell apart when the waiter delivered them. My husband ordered a drink, but it took so long to arrive that we eventually had to cancel the order because we had finished our meals. The sushi we received was cold, and considering we had ordered tempura, it should have been at least at room temperature. Overall, we were very disappointed and will not be returning."
