"This hotel changed management in July 2023 after being sold, resulting in various updates. I had made a reservation through booking.com months in advance, only to find upon arrival that the room price had been lowered on the hotel’s own website; however, they were unwilling to adjust my rate. To avoid surprises, it's advisable to double-check prices a day or two before arriving. The pool looked decent, although I didn't use it, and while the hot tub was hot, the jets weren’t functioning well.
Breakfast was satisfactory, but my check-in day was marred by two police incidents, which made me question the safety of the establishment. It appeared to have more long-term residents than temporary guests, which was unexpected. While it could work for a quick stopover, my six-day visit to see family left much to be desired. The cleanliness of the carpets on the first floor, especially in a pet-friendly hotel, could be improved. If you prefer a pet-free environment, I recommend requesting a room on one of the upper floors, as the hotel has three levels.
The bed, pillows, and TV service were acceptable, but the presence of dog scratches on my door indicated that I was in a pet-designated room. I hope the hotel can raise its standards; being part of the Wyndham chain, it’s unclear why it hasn’t maintained a higher level of quality. Despite its convenient location off Highway 5, traffic noise could be heard in the rooms at the back of the property during the night."
