"We have gone to the Hard Shell annually for our anniversary for several years. Sadly, this year was a bit disappointing. I had the filet and lobster with mashed potatoes and asparagus. The asparagus was woody and over cooked. I ordered the steak medium rare and it was undercooked. The lobster was cooked perfectly and not rubbery. Husband had the crab cakes and while he enjoyed them I found them a little strong (but I am sensitive to fishy tastes and odors). In fact, the restaurant smelled fishy upon entering. I didn 't send the steak back as I ate around the edges and my husband enjoys rare steak. At the end of the meal I told the server not to box up the remaining asparagus because it was woody, and to their credit, the manager came to our table and offered to box up a replacement vegetable. Overall, the food was under seasoned and we needed to add salt, but had to ask for a replacement salt shaker because the two we tried were clogged up with humid salt. And a fly was buzzing around the entire time. Our server Katie was very attentive and was the bright spot in our visit. For the price of the meal we expected better. Neither of us came away saying, That was delicious!"
