"What really ruined our evening was everything that happened after we ordered dessert. We were told there was only one cheesecake available, which was fine. Then, our server returned to inform us that there was also a chocolate cake. That sounded better! However, we waited 30 minutes without any further communication, and our server was nowhere to be seen. Eventually, we flagged down another staff member, who appeared to be the manager. He seemed indifferent but said he would check on our dessert.
More time passed, and finally, our server approached the table and quietly said, “There’s nothing left.” What? That was such an odd way to inform us they were out of something that they initially said was available. There was no apology or explanation. What had happened in the 30 minutes since we ordered?
We reluctantly settled for the cheesecake, which turned out to be terrible. After just two bites, I was left with a bad taste in my mouth—both literally and figuratively. I understand that things can go wrong, but they missed the mark on basic hospitality. If the manager had come to explain what happened or offered something to make amends, I might have considered returning to the hotel. However, I definitely will not be coming back to Woodhouse Pizza."
