"Restaurant was having an issue with their A/C ..basically it wasn't working however it just seemed to our party of 6 that they weren't doing anything to fix the problem (it was 96 degrees outside). Asparagus salad had very little asparagus and the mussels were dried up and off tasting. The bread that accompanies the mussels was stale and over oiled and no attempt to toast it. Three in our party ordered the prix fix pre theater menu that came with a special cocktail of the evening but the waiter didn't offer it until we were ready to leave? A glass of red wine ordered was HOT. Won't be returning."

"The chef at Manoli's isn't hiding behind gimmicks or fanfare. They just know how to cook. In a beautiful contrast to many style over substance restaurants they are simple and done with near flawless technique.After a few times going for brunch we've had a few minor issues: the biscuits and gravy were a little on the cool side when they came out, though they were still delicious, the bougatsa was good for a few bites but so heavy we couldn't finish it between two of us. The breakfast potatoes weren't my favorite ways to do potatoes but they were well done. We absolutely loved the Greek sausages and the pancakes."

"Service was awful we waited over an hour just for coffee and then another 45+ minutes for our entrees. Host was rude and didn’t seem to expect us even though we had a reservation. Our server was very nice and kept apologizing for the wait, which was clearly out of her control. Multiple other tables dining at the same time as us asked if the restaurant would comp a portion of the meal because it was such a disaster, which they declined to do. Other reviews have said very similar things, so clearly this is a consistent problem that management needs to address. Totally understand that there is a severe personnel shortage but this was a much worse experience than at similar restaurants dealing with the same shortage, and I hope Gates can find a way to improve this."

"We had dinner here while in Napa for a wedding. They were very accommodating in booking tables for a larger number of us. We just wish we could have all sat by the river instead of the street. I think the experience would have been a lot nicer. Food was generally good although one order of fries were not hot. We didn't send it back though. I had the blackened fish tacos which was good but very spicy. We had the artichoke, Asiago and spinach dip which was good but you didn't get a lot of it. It was one of the more reasonably priced restaurants in the area. One of the reason we chose it. Others in our group did go back for another dinner later in the week."

"The food was unexpectedly fantastic! Everything was delicious, and it’s impressive to find a menu where nothing disappoints. That’s quite rare! The desserts were incredible; the nutmeg ice cream had an amazing texture and was among the best I’ve ever tasted. Pair it with the Greek-style donut holes, and you’ve got a winning combination! The standout dishes were the crab, lamb, and meatballs, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with any item on the menu. I do have two complaints..."

"Eggs Benedict is great as is the accompanying fried potatoes. The Standard Two Egg Breakfast is tasty and is great value. The Hash is good, but could have a little more zip added. The cinammon bun french toast is yummy and served with a generous amount of whipped cream and fresh berries. Lovely brunch experience."
