"Everything surpassed our expectations (which were high to begin with after a wonderful dinner last year). Tasty cocktails, delectable asparagus soup, amazing goat cheese and crostini appetizer (plenty for two or more people), and excellent main courses (tender short ribs with polenta and cipollini onions and perfectly cooked salmon atop the best risotto I've ever had with a fennel cream sauce). We both had, and loved, the chocolate roulade cake with an espresso whipped cream filling. It was surprisingly light and just the right level of sweetness. The portions were ample. We'll enjoy the leftovers tonight at our hotel. We can't say enough good things about our server, Lola, who went above and beyond. We appreciated her helpful suggestions, her attentive (but never intrusive) manner, and her kindness. Also enjoyed conversing with the friendly bartender, Freddie, and the owner, Julie. Even the music and decor reminiscent of a 1930s speakeasy added tremendously to the experience. A real gem. We'll be back!"
