"Our experience was what you would expect from a casual dining, American chain restaurant. A little better, really. As for the steak, which is why you go there after all, it was cooked perfected. Properly seasoned and very, very tasty. HOWEVER, the Porterhouse they sell is NOT a true porterhouse steak. It a just a large NY Strip. Consider this when ordering. Had I received a true porterhouse, I would have given 4 stars instead of 3.Texas Roadhouse needs to deliver what they claim they offer, and what I purchased. USDA Prime Porterhouse Steak offers hearty portions of two great cuts the Tenderloin Filet and Strip Steak. UPDATE:I returned four months after my previous review and ordered the exact same meal. What was different this time is that I dined alone and at the bar, not in in the main dinning room.Last time I had expressed some dissatisfaction with the steak. In some aspects it was better and in others less so. This time I did receive a true Porterhouse steak, comprising of a strip steak and the filet bother attached to the bone as they should be. So this time I did receive what I paid for. It did not taste fresh and it was lacking in proper seasoning. I suspect that it has a steak that had been previously frozen. Normally, often times, that is to be expected and is extremely commonplace in the industry. From a restaurant that boasts of fresh, hand cut steaks that is what the consumer should expect. A frozen steak from a restaurant that boasts of fresh, hand cut, this is unacceptable. Now if the steak was in fact fresh, never frozen, then I would have to challenge them of the quality. Maybe I just need to order a different steak. For these reasons I will keep their star rating the same.As for service, it has always been good. No complaints here at all. The waitstaff are polite, respectful, engaging, and most importantly respected my pace my time.Will I return? Sure will, but I think I will give some time, like a year, before I return."

"I have eaten at several locations across the country and generally love Texas Roadhouse because of its consistent value for your money typically the service and food are great for what you pay. I have eaten at the Frederick location several times and have found the service and food quality to be wildly inconsistent. I don’t think I’ll be back. In my last visit: my partner and I ordered medium rare steaks and received very rare steaks. Mine was edible, but his was too blue. The person who brought the food to us didn’t ask us to cut into the steaks, so it took a while for us to flag down someone to send my partner’s steak back. It took a while for his steak to come back after they threw it back on the grill. When the manager brought it out, it was the correct temp, but appeared to be the same steak that he’d eaten a couple bites of before seeing how raw it was in the middle (I’m not sure if this is protocol, but rubbed us the wrong way). Neither the manager or server apologized, and both seemed very apathetic throughout the entire meal. We’ve had steak not be the correct temp at a different location before, and it wasn’t a big deal they apologized, quickly took the steak away and brought out one that was the correct temp. Not this time, though! I was initially overcharged for my meal, so we mentioned it to the server. I got a sirloin and shrimp combo, which showed as $22.99 on the menu. I don’t know how it’s supposed to be rang up and I don’t particularly care, but the way it was rang up, it cost $24.97. Instead of trying to explain it, the server just defended it saying ‘that’s how we have to ring it up in the system’ and when we tried asking why the price was different than what’s on the menu, he just said he’d fix it. When he ‘fixed it’ the price was $20.98 — still not the right price, but we didn’t feel like waiting 20 more minutes for him to come back. We didn’t complain to the manager while in the restaurant because we didn’t feel they would be interested in making the experience better. While I don’t ever expect a perfect experience, each part of this experience combined with minor issues in past visits added up to a bad enough experience that I’m planning on not returning."
