"Had a hankering for some Thai food today and decided to take out from Gin Thai Brasserie. I ordered the Pad See Ew, Low Carb Pad Thai, Steak Bites, Fresh Rolls and a Thai Iced Tea. Although we didn 't dine in, the restaurant was nice and clean. It 's on the small side, so seating could be limited around dinner time. The Fresh Roll (2pc) was filled with lots of fresh shredded veggies and a decent piece of tofu. It comes with peanut dipping sauce. They were very good and lived up to its name. All the reviews I read raved about the steak bites, so I had to try them... and I wasn 't impressed. It 's thinly sliced 'marinated ' beef, served with a citrus/chili dipping sauce. My wife and I both agree that what it lacked, was ANY flavor. Very bland. I wouldn 't order it again. My wife had the 'low carb ' Pad Thai. I didn 't have any, but she liked it and said she 'd order it again. Being low carb, there is only a very small amount of noodles, the rest of the 'bulk ' was made up of shredded veggies like cabbage, carrots and bean sprouts. Cooked like traditional Pad Thai in a familiar tasting sauce. She got it with chicken for an extra buck and there was a lot of it. I had the Pad See Ew. This is one of my favorite Thai dishes and GTB 's iteration was just as good as any other reputable Thai restaurant. Rice noodles, veggies and chicken, stir fried in a dark, sweet soy sauce. It was really good. I also had the Thai Iced Tea which, let 's be real only needed to do one thing, and that 's taste like Thai Iced Tea. It did. It was good sweet, creamy and tea y. Overall, with the exception of the disappointing steak bites, my family and I will eat at GTB again. The flavors are good and the ingredients taste fresh. The price per dish is similar to other Thai restaurants in the area and I was more than satisfied with size of all the portions. A solid 4 !"

"I recently visited this Japanese restaurant twice, once on 04/21/2023 with my wife, and again on 05/05/2023 with my wife and some friends who are sushi and sashimi enthusiasts. The food was absolutely outstanding. The sashimi and sushi were exceptional, beyond my expectations. The rice bowl with fish roe was a bomb. The tempura was prepared in the traditional Japanese style with a thin, crunchy batter. However, the ice cream tempura was pretty standard. The oyster shot's flavor can vary depending on the season, but I found it pretty good. I would skip the oven-baked or fried fish next time, simply because I need more room in my stomach. The Cherry Blossom rice wine and Yuzu Beer were a bit on the sweet side, but still very enjoyable. The ambiance of the restaurant is not fancy, but it has an authentic feel that reminds me of Japanese restaurants in Japan. Most of the guests were families, and although it could get a bit noisy at times, it was still within an acceptable range. There were enough parking spaces available during my visit. The service was excellent, with all the waitresses being friendly, attentive, and quick. My wife and friends were 150% satisfied, and I am already planning to make some kind of occasion to dine at this restaurant again. On my next visit, I plan to order the following items: 1) Sashimi and sushi, including halibut, yellowtail toro, salmon toro, sweet shrimp, uni, giant scallop, and aji; 2) Rice bowl with fish roe; 3) Tempura; 4) Udon; and 5) Dassai 23 Junmai Daiginjo Sake, which I pre-ordered for my most recent visit on 05/05/2023. It was discounted from its usual $200 to $150. The discount may be an opening event or something ??? I will find out on my next visit."

"Decided to take the risk and come here having read all the recent reviews, and wanted to write an honest, legitimate review. I have no idea what some people are talking about, this place is quite good! Not many options in SLC for Chinese food, so it was either this or Panda Express, and I'm glad we went here. To be honest, this place is clearly pretty old and dingy and not in the best location, so it can seem a little sketchy, (particularly at night). We went for it anyway, and the guy up front was super friendly and personable. The wait wasn't too long, and the food was perfectly good. We got the chicken lo mein and I did the Two Barbecue on rice (with soy chicken and cha siu). The cha siu was very good! And the chicken was silky and juicy (if you're not used to traditional soy chicken you might not like the cut because you have to be careful of the bone pieces). It came with bok choi as well, it was all tasty and very good Cantonese style dish. My only complaint would be the rice was a little dry or perhaps not very fresh, but everything else was good. The lo mein was also good and has the kind of thinner noodles, and comes with bean sprouts. Price is super reasonable, so obviously don't come expecting something gourmet or the best food ever but portions were good and it was all perfectly tasty. I'm glad we went for it despite the exterior appearance and bad reviews, this place seems very genuine and has good Chinese food. Granted, I can't compare it to the previous ownership because I've never been here before. I am from the Seattle area where there are excellent family owned Chinese restaurants all over the city, and my mom is Chinese and a great cook, so I wanted to write an objective review. For being one of the few options here, and such a reasonable price, this place isn't bad at all and I would come here again."
