"The lunch menu is creatively hand-written on the wall above the ordering area, making it easy to see your options. To reach the counter, you walk past a delightful display of house-made salads and sides. After placing your order, you can choose any available table or booth, and a friendly server will bring your food to you.
I found my meal to be both tasty and satisfying. I had a grilled ham and cheese sandwich paired with a broccoli salad. The sandwich was loaded with two or three kinds of cheese and juicy slices of ham. The broccoli salad was a pleasant surprise; it featured crunchy broccoli mixed with nuts (possibly walnuts), raisins, and a lightly sweet white dressing that I think was yogurt-based. I expected a savory dish, so this sweet twist was refreshing.
On a subsequent visit for dinner, I tried the bruschetta chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables. Unlike lunch, dinner features table service, so you order your meal at the table. The bruschetta chicken was incredible—it was so flavorful that I could hardly focus on conversation with my dining companions, as I was completely absorbed in the taste of my dish.
For dessert, the selection is limited to a few homemade treats that are prepared daily. We opted for the peanut butter and chocolate pie, which was impressive in its own right. It tasted like a rich, dense Reese’s cup but with even more chocolate. It’s become a treat I’m willing to drive the 50 miles to enjoy again.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visits to Gibby's and look forward to returning in the future."
