"This restaurant is a great option for a quick meal. The food is consistently good, and I often stop by whenever I'm in the neighborhood. I used to eat here regularly when I worked nearby. While many other Al's locations have closed, I'm glad this one is still open. Chicago has a wide variety of Italian beef places, and opinions on them can be quite personal. Personally, I've always preferred Al's over Portillo's, Mr. Beef, or Buona. However, for me, Johnny's on North Avenue remains the best. This Al's offers a larger menu and is located on the other side of town, so if you're in the area, it's worth stopping by for a bite. Most people aren't likely to drive all the way to Johnny's from Niles unless they intended to do so from the beginning."
