"The food tends to be lacking in flavor and can be overly salty at times. The rice could use more spice, while the proteins need less salt overall. The pasteles were very bland. On the bright side, they did make fresh maduros (sweet plantains) for me. Unfortunately, the cooler meant for drinks was set to a very high temperature, resulting in all the beverages being frozen, so I ended up going elsewhere for a drink.
For a small portion, the price is $10, which includes a choice of bland rice with a meat option (ox tails, goat, pork, steak, or pernil). Bananas are extra, and the rice comes without olives, potatoes, or sausage. Diners can choose between white rice or yellow rice with a bit of sugar. There is no yuca offered either. They do offer delivery through Grubhub. Overall, this place does not capture the true flavors of a Puerto Rican cuchifrito."
