"I was in search of a straightforward fried chicken place without any frills. As a New Orleans native, I'm used to some of the finest fried chicken available, so I found myself at Crown Fried Chicken. There was a short line that moved at a reasonable pace, which gave me hope that the chicken would be fresh and not sitting out for too long. Unfortunately, I was wrong! I ordered a six-piece meal with fries and received one drumstick and five thighs. The chicken was disappointing—it was old, dry, and tough. I took a bite of each piece, and they were all hard to chew. While there was a hint of flavor, I might have enjoyed it if it had been served hot and fresh. Sadly, this will be my last visit. I should have taken it as a sign when the person taking my order seemed to ignore me and instead asked someone outside what they wanted while I was directly in front of him."
