"Beer beer beer!!! What else can you ask for????? I know! Amazing appies, burgers, salads, and customer service! I've been to other locations and they are all great! I came to this location recently while in San Diego and boy, did they not disappoint! I had an encounter with Sal when I walked in and he made me feel that these guilty pleasures of wanting one of everything on the menu was nothing to be ashamed of, haha. He explained what beer was his favorite and why. I have to confess that all this talk about hops and after taste and blah blah blah was confusing but when I took a sip of the sample he gave me I could visualize the taste! He was great and recommended some meals but I went with my usual The mesquite Chix Sandwich with truffle fries and a side of ranch! My friend decided to take him up on the Pork Chops. It was an excellent choice because I had half of one pork chop. He did say that there is no trip to Karl Strauss without having a glass of the Red Trolley Ale. Though I know he is right, it was hot and we needed a crisp and refreshing beverage. We decided on the Windansea Wheat and the Follow the Sun to quench our thirst. I then realized that I wasn't the only one in the restaurant, though he made me feel like I was, and got back to the other customers. Once I thought I was done, full, and ready for the check, Marleen came to our table. She also had so much to say about beer and then convinced me to have one last beer for dessert! Yes!!!!!! The Wreck Alley Imperial Stout! she came out with the beer and a huge smile (she made have had a drink of it jk) but one sip and my entire body smiled! That ended my meal in the clouds! Satisfaction is key! They were friendly and ran up my bill but who can complain when you are greeted with a friendly face and served with care and compassion. Def my new spot when I'm in SD. Guess who I'm asking for when I come back?"
