"We ordered ahead for a 5:30 pick up at the Sacramento location on Howe. We have never tried this restaurant before, it was Christmas Day, and only a handful of places were open. I am so disappointed and outraged at how much they charge for literal garbage food. We ordered a spaghetti with marinara, cheese ravioli, chicken parmigiana, and a piece of chocolate cake $100. Our order wasn’t ready until 6pm, the spaghetti had barely any marinara and it was awful, ravioli with meat sauce was awful, chicken was cold and under cooked, haven’t tried the cake yet but it if it tastes like all the other things then I might as well eat paper. I’m so extremely disappointed at how this restaurant overcharges for this **** food. It makes me angry that hard working people are getting basically duped. Worst experience ever. Lesson learned."

"I made reservations through OpenTable and everything went smoothly. However, when our group of 8 was seated, they placed us in a booth. One of our guests had a disability, and we had informed the hostess in advance so that we could have a more accessible seating arrangement that wouldn't inconvenience anyone. It didn't make sense for us to be placed in a booth."

"Second time coming here. Was blown away the first time by the great food. This time was WAY different. The food was fine. It seemed like it was less quality this time. The prices were OUTRAGEOUS! I like eating at nice places (and hole in the walls) and I am willing to pay for great food but this is just not up to par. 24 for a bruschetta appetizer. Yes, it was big and extravagant looking but absolutely not worth that price. 37 for 3 thin chicken breasts with capers, prosciutto, and butter sauce! The chicken carbonara was decent, but it had maybe half of a chicken breast on it. The atmosphere is fun and there were 3 birthday celebrations while we were there. Honestly, I won't be back solely because the prices went up and the quality went down. Olive Garden would have been a better choice."

"First time here and the entire experience was amazing! The restaurant has a great environment with many pictures and other interesting stuff on the walls. Amanda our server took the time to explain everything on the menu, and her service was excellent! She really made my sister’s birthday dinner enjoyable and memorable. Can’t wait until our never meal here!"

"We hosted a youth basketball end of season banquet and it was very well received by the coaches, players and parents. We had our own private room, the kids could interact without disturbing other patrons, we went with the Firenze option and there were options for everyone and enough food to go around. The only feedback I heard was the chocolate cake was dry, we are critical when it comes to dessert! The staff and manager were accommodating and helpful. In fact, one parent took photos and sent to a friend to recommend the venue. Thank you!"

"It has been several years since we last went to Buca. I can see from this visit why they are going bankrupt. The quality of the food has fallen dramatically. It is very generic American style Italian without any hint of true Italian flavor, i.e. the herbs and spices are sparse and low grade. The tomatoes taste canned. The Italian sausage tastes stale. And considering that we paid nearly $35 per person in total, that is not acceptable. There are far better family style Italian restaurants around, especially mom&pop places that support local communities. We've been to every Buca in the LA area over the years. But Brea will be the last one we ever go to."

"The ambiance and service was outstanding as usual, but unfortunately the quality of the food hampered the evening. We ordered the trio appetizer spicy shrimp, mozzarella triangles and the calamari , which was very good. The Gargonzola salad was delicious, but the Chicken parm came up seriously short. The first bite into it we all looked at EACHOTHER and described it as “doughy” with no taste at all. It was a bummer for sure. We ordered the marinara spaghetti to with. This wasn’t too bad, but just eh. Thank god we ordered a small margarita pizza. That saved the evening. Overall the marinara on the spaghetti and on the pizza was ok, but needs to be reassessed and tweaked. Very bland and nothing to make you leave saying “OMG that was delicious”. Our waitress was attentive and made sure our glasses never went empty. We asked for an extra loaf of bread, which she delivered promptly. Our family loves Buca’s and this was a very much anticipated outing since the restrictions on COVID were lightened. Sadly, the food was under par. Sorry Buca. We’ll definitely be back though"

"My wife and I decided to try Bucca for Thanksgiving Dinner. I made a reservation through this app and, few days later, I got a call from the resto to confirm. This is our first time celebrating Thanksgiving at Bucca di Beppo. Their Thanksgiving Menu is a prix fixe, either for 3 or 6 people. Or, one can order from their regular menu, except the pizza. Unfortunately, there is no turkey dinner set for one person. So my wife ordered the menu for 3 people and it was a lot for her! Since I 'm not a turkey lover, I ordered a separate dish Chicken parmigiana with spaghetti marinara sauce. According to wifey, she liked her food, except the stuffings. But with mine, honestly I didn 't like it much. The spaghetti was too saucy which made the chicken saggy. Overall, the service is good, the food is oK, the ambiance is fine but too loud, and the price is exorbitant. So, from this experience, sorry to say, non tornaremo piú. Arrividerci, Bucca!"

"This is absolutely the worst of the Bucas in town. We've gone here twice for special occasions because they are the closest to us, and both times they have botched it with their poor service. My daughter specifically asked to go here for her birthday so they would sing to her. After noting we were celebrating a birthday on our reservation and telling both our server and the manager we were there to celebrate a birthday, nothing happened.Meanwhile, there are signs on the placemat and all over the restaurant telling you to tell your server if you are celebrating a birthday and they even have their birthday song printed out, so if you don't want to do that anymore, then maybe you should get rid of all that advertising. I'm sure it has something to do with the pandemic and the need to social distance, and I get that, but they didn't even wish my daughter a happy birthday after we told them. It's like it went in one ear and out the other, and we weren't fishing for free cake from them either. We had a cake at home and even tried to buy tiramisu, but it isn't currently on the menu.Also, the server kept putting things down at the end of the table by my wife expecting her to pass things down the table like drinks, plates, main dishes, etc. I've been in other restaurants during the pandemic that have not been so finicky about reaching over a diner's shoulder to get refills, and for a meal, I don't expect my wife to have to practically bus the table because a server is either lazy or scared or something. The food is great, but everything else about this place is abysmal, and I should have known better to return"

"It was an odd experience. Checked it out because I was flying back to Cleveland and had my family meet me at the airport then eat nearby. It was pretty much empty at 7 on a Friday night when most other restaurants were full. The place was like a maze of small areas which hid the fact that it was empty. We had Cesar salad, chicken parm, calamari, spaghetti and meatballs and Cannoli’s for dessert. The family style concept is not a virtue. The food was pretty tasty, but the prices were really high for the portion sizes that they served. And the family style limited everyone in their choice. The calamari was $23 and marketed as a large share item. But it really wasn’t much bigger than a portion at most Italian restaurants. The chicken parm, $33, and was 3 pieces of chicken and no side of pasta. $23 for a large Cesar salad. I think the concept might work, but not well at those prices, and not in Cleveland where we have many great authentic Italian restaurants. It seems to me like a concept that would have to be offered at a discount to the traditional menu in order to be attractive."
