"Tesoros is a small cafe in Upper Union, Schenectady. Although I made a Mother's Day reservation in advance it was obvious they did not have us on their list (and many others as well). The four of us waited for minutes in a small hallway until a table was available. Then I stood next to the table for another minutes to receive a chair to sit in. Many other families waited as long if not longer after we were seated. I selected this restaurant because on OpenTable I looked at the menu and it was appealing. However, the menu was not available on Mother's Day and the only option was a buffet. I watched more than one group leave after arriving and learning it was buffet only. I was afraid to do that since it was Mother's Day and I had no other reservation made. Tesoros seemed very overwhelmed and unprepared. Numerous times there were people waiting for clean plates/silverware. At one point we stood in line for minutes waiting for more French toast to be put on the buffet. The food on the buffet was very limited but mostly tasted good. Green salad, French toast (some pieces burnt), bacon, sausage, black beans, plantains, rice, salmon, shredded pork, shredded beef, breakfast potatoes, pasta salad, fruit salad. The fruit salad display was very attractive. Coffee and water was self service. Because I did not know about the buffet I had no idea what the cost was and got quite a surprise at the cash register. It was for one adult and three children. Completely overpriced considering what the buffet consisted of and I would not do it again."
