"The restaurant features a large bar and an impressive sake menu, which I really enjoyed. I tried a house cocktail called "The Beast," and it struck the perfect balance—not too sweet and not too bitter. For appetizers, we ordered a mixed tempura and saba, which my in-laws really liked.
We then ordered three rolls (dragon, Asahi, and one I can't remember) along with some nigiri: scallop, king salmon, fatty tuna, saba, and tobiko. I noticed that although they offer an omakase menu, when we asked for fresh wasabi, our server informed us they didn’t have any. This seemed odd, as fresh wasabi is typically served with omakase, but it wasn’t a major issue for us.
Unfortunately, the fish didn't taste very fresh, and the rice lacked the right texture. While it was filling, the overall dish felt unbalanced. Nothing about the rolls or nigiri really stood out to us, except perhaps the fatty tuna. The rice was undercooked and falling apart, possibly due to insufficient vinegar. It was surprising that they also didn't have quail eggs, but this wasn't a deal-breaker for me. The tempura ice cream was underwhelming, and the presentation could have been better.
We were hoping to find a new go-to sushi spot in town but left feeling let down by the quality of the fish and rice. However, we do want to give this restaurant another chance, as perhaps we just visited on an off day."
