"This place is a mix of a hibachi grill and a sushi bar. My review focuses solely on the sushi side, which has consistently provided an amazing experience each time I've visited. I promise I’ll try the hibachi side… next time. When we arrived, it was quite busy, mostly with families enjoying the hibachi. The hostess, who also served us, was juggling her duties with a delightful smile, which was evident even behind her mask. After browsing several menus and debating whether to order more, a gentleman came by with our drinks—Nigori and Sapporo—let the party begin!
I think we were the most animated table there, but honestly, the atmosphere is nice even without our lively presence. We shared laughs with the staff, and when our house salads arrived, we brought some much-appreciated silence to the other diners as we chewed with gusto. Next time, I’ll definitely order two salads for myself. Our appetizers featured the Monkey Ball, an absolute favorite of mine—so good! We also tried fried Gyoza, chicken yakitori, and shrimp yakitori. All were fantastic—pro tip: don’t ignore the sauce that drips off the yakitori on your plate!
For our main sushi, we ordered the Sunset roll, which was decent but a bit plain. However, the Texas Ranger Roll really stole the show—knocked it out of the park! It had just the right amount of spice and a ton of flavor. It was a wonderful dining experience, made even better when our server treated us to a farewell shot of Nigori, which reinforced my admiration for her. Every visit to Masu is a great time.
UPDATE: On a return visit today, everything was just as amazing as always. We ordered the Sunset roll again, and this time it had a good kick and was much tastier than before. We also tried the Paradise roll, which paired wonderfully with the Sunset roll—a true flavor explosion! The nice heat from the Sunset roll was excellently complemented by the Paradise roll."
