"Mt. Fuji has been the go-to sushi spot for my family and I, but lately, they have been letting us down with takeout, so we came here to see what it is actually like. When you come in, apart from the giant hibachi-viewing window, you will see the giant fish scales that will confused why they don't continue into a tail. Aside from that, ambiance is very casual and simple. The menu here is pretty straightforward and includes the typical Japanese-American dishes and some more inspired menu items. I highly recommend the egg rolls for an appetizer and green tea for a drink, especially if you have ordered a lot of food. On that note, service if fast and attentive to the need of the customers and they will have you be at home. I would strongly recommend the famous Norwegian dish, smoked salmon as it is very buttery, oily, and is so tender, that the amazing flavors will melt in your mouth, complimented by the soft and fluffy rice. You heard right! Smoked salmon is not Japanese and was invented as a way for Norway to deal with its major excess of salmon in the 1980's. Add some ginger to your salmon to make it even more flavorful and crunchy. Our meals were amazing, full of flavor and our service was also amazing. We left being full and happy, waiting to come back another time!Tl;dr: The service is great, food is amazingly soft and fluffy, with a great feel to it all. Setting: very simple with some Japanese touches. Service: Fast and attentive (if you dine in.)Food: The smoked salmon is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone."

"The manager on duty this particular evening (a small Asian male) was extremely rude. I've been a long-time customer at Ooki, based on location, mostly (but not always) good-tasting food, and despite some occasional glitches in delivery (the wrong dish is delivered about 10% of the time and sometimes they require (mostly because of location), but also due to some good food (but not always). In terms of delivery, about 10% of the time, the wrong order is delivered and sometimes they require the customer to send them a photo of what was delivered before they agree to exchange it. But overall, the service was acceptable such that I have been a repeat customer for over 10 years. But today, I ordered for takeout for single dish under $10 When I got there to pay, they told me I had to pay cash as there was a $10 limit for credit, I know that a credit minimum is not an unusual practice. However, I can’t recall having to pay cash at Ooki in the recent past, so I was a bit surprised with the request for cash. The cashier was apologetic and friendly. But then the manager intervened and very quickly and rudely told me I had to pay cash. When I told him I was a long-time customer who never paid cash, he said it didn’t matter. When I asked to see something in writing that stated the credit minimum policy, he then dismissed me and told me the order was cancelled. Before leaving the restaurant, I double-checked the walls and the menu to see if there was some written policy supporting the $10 minimum. There wasn't any. So I ended up walking 2 blocks to another Japanese restaurant) which treated me much more politely and filled my order in less than 4 minutes (Ooki typically takes 10 to 15 minutes). I will miss ordering from Ooki, but I can not tolerate a lack of courtesy from management."
