"based on reviews, this restaurant was on our list to visit, while through acron. the physical space itself was, what would recognize long vegans than the lightly worn, eclectic decoration with unmatched tables and chairs - all perfect and familiar in this account. the place felt like home-kudos. (sides: if they go, make sure that they give a long noticeable look at the gips on the walls and decks - it is pure artistic I never want less than luminous reviews for companies that try to do the right and live progressive values, but I also think it does not help if we do not provide constructive comment areas that could improve. to this point: we ordered tofu scramble. flavoring was a tad picky for our taste, but the main problem was the amount of food. for $14 we expected a more generous part - perhaps even with one side. we also ordered the cookies, sausages and gravy. delicious biscuits with too much pfeffer in the gravy. that was another $13. the $3 coffee was bitter and not really drinkable. we are in the usually very futile diners, but the combination of bad taste and high trips created a situation where we felt we had to express our disappointment. Maybe we met a bad day in the kitchen. so, or so, it is regrettable because woman julie’s seems to have all the right intentions when it comes to herbal food."

"This restaurant has been voted the best Indian restaurant several times. They have separate menu sections for vegan and vegetarian dishes, offering a variety of appetizers and main courses that are both vegan and gluten-free. The waitstaff is very accommodating regarding food restrictions. When you sit down, they serve you crackers with three sauces, although it's important to note that the green sauce contains milk. Everything is delicious, and there’s something for everyone!"

"I haven't sampled the food yet, but I visited the grocery store located within the restaurant. The restaurant itself appeared clean and had a pleasant atmosphere. Thanks to a door separating the grocery store from the dining area, patrons can enjoy their meals in complete privacy. The grocery store isn't very large, but it offers a good selection of essentials. So far, I've only seen a variety of frozen meats, including chicken, beef, lamb, and goat, which they are happy to cut to your specifications. The butcher is extremely nice and very helpful. The owner is also friendly and makes an effort to assist customers as much as possible. The grocery prices are quite competitive, and the prices for Halal meat are the lowest I've found in the San Fernando Valley. While there is storefront parking available, it can be a bit tricky due to other restaurants and shops in the same complex. I wish them all the best!"

"First time here, and although we do not live super local, will definitely find our way back here again. Restaurant came highly recommended by my mother in law, and she was with us. First, the iced tea. So flavorful, I had to have my husband help me identify the spice I smelled/tasted in the tea. Cinnamon and cloves. Try it, so good. Our party of four all was offered complimentary lentil soup, so smooth and delicious. We each ordered something different, portion sizes enough to take home. Highly recommend. Service was lovely and attentive as well. Beautifully decorated and comfortable atmosphere."

"I'm a little disappointed about the recommendations I received from our server. We were given a complimentary small soup which was fine. Our server recommended the samosas and as a main entree the chicken tikka masala. I was really hoping that something more adventurous. It seemed the staff who were foreigners played it really conservative. The samosas were good with the three small dipping sauces that accompanied it. The chicken tikka masala sauce had good flavor but the chicken was overcooked in my opinion. Also there wasn't anything else in the sauce besides chicken. I realize different cultures make this differently but it just seemed a little boring. The staff was attentive and the place was clean. There was this annoying sound in the background that reminded me of some movie that had some noise generated by some time travel machine. The naan was alright. 3 1/2 stars Listing additional pics."

"I’ve had Indian food all over the USA and England, and this is some of the best I’ve come across. Vegetable Korma is delicious if you’re vegetarian, with the veggie samosas, Tamarind chutney, and some Naan- you’ve got a great meal that is filling and easy, and full of spices. Kids love the chicken tikka masala. The “medium” spicy is pretty spicy- about like “hot” salsa so be advised. This place deserves to be really busy. They are fast and organized with takeout, which is easy to pickup. Before the pandemic, we loved the lunch buffet. Hope to come back for that as soon as our youngest is vaccinated. This place is not flashy looking, but the food is legit good."

"My fella loves this place but I’ve had a hard time going back ever since the server explained to me they lamb and fish are vegan. He was very nice but come on lamb and fish vegan? It’s hard to eat anything they make after a comment like that. Also too oily for my taste. update 2/10/2020 They finally have their vegan options listed separately on the menu so you don’t have to worry when ordering... a huge plus to me since before the server didn’t realize shrimp and lamb are not vegan"

"This place is wonderful for 2 reasons: 1) People are friendly and treat you well. 2) The food has been excellent! I left yesterday and ordered Samosa cheese for an appetizer. Unfortunately, they were just one to make before running (the menu says it should be two per order). So they gave me the last cheese Samosa for free and automatically placed an order of veggie samosa as a substitute. Both were absolutely delicious! The owner always had great manners and very friendly in my experience! I think he loves talking to people and enjoys sharing his culture with his food. I think I surprised him because I asked for it to be really spicy! They were a little tough because they knew how sharp the food can get. Your solution was clever! They made our food spicy, as we asked, and they served us a small amount of capsicum separately! So, my friend and I can add extra spices if we liked! These little things make me repeat my points that the customer service top notch and the food is wonderful!"

"Don't be put off by the quiet interior, beautiful lighting, and wellpressed linen tablecloths. Bollywood Indian Restaurant is perfectly casual and offers everything you'd want and more. We came as a small group to have a familystyle meal. We ordered the chicken tandoori very well seasoned and perfectly cooked, chicken tikka masala was quite sweet but perfect for our friend who doesn't like spice, lamb curry tender meat and nice amount of spice, lamb korma delicious and definitely my favorite with its heat and creaminess, and aloo gobi also incredibly satisfying. We had no complaints and after sharing everything around the table were thoroughly satisfied and remained so when the check came. The food is authentic, they ask you to specify the level of spice, and the servers were kind but not overbearing. We will come again"

"Nothing Extraordinary We had some craving for Indian food. Instead of going to Coconut Grove to our great Indian restaurant, we elected to try Taste Buds of India since it is much closer to our home. We made a reservation through Open Table. Upon our arrival, our Indian Host, who barely spoke English, did not understand what I meant when I told him to confirm my reservation with Open Table to get my points. It was fairly quiet for a Friday evening while other restaurants in the neighborhood such as Old Lisbon, were packed. While dining, we didn’t see too many Indians in the dining room. As for the food, it was very average. It took forever to get my Tandoori whole fish. The waiter could have alerted me about the time it was going to take but he didn’t. Furthermore, we were disappointed to find many fish scales on our Tandoori fish which is a big turn off. The ambience, food, staff overall could have been better."

"Our group of five had a wonderful experience tonight for a celebratory dinner. Service was exceptional (from both our servers and even the person who made the drinks came around and checked), atmosphere was relaxed on a Monday night which was perfect and we got one of the nice cosy round tall booths, food was delicious. Tandoori cauliflower, goat curry, butter chicken, veggie korma, chicken biryani, pappadoms, garlic naan, basmati rice, raita, mint and tamarind chutneys were all very good. Lots of flavour everywhere. Impressed that the goat curry was surprisingly tender. Vegetables in korma were not mushy and sauce was good. Presentation was all very nice. Some of our group were concerned about the spice level beforehand, and they asked us what we wanted before we even said anything, and the mild level was still very tasty (but still a good amount of spice for mild . Lots of dishes to choose from on the menu. I 'm not vegetarian, but there are plenty of interesting veggie choices if you are. And the drink selection was fantastic with unique drinks. My black magic had a fancy presentation but it still tasted very balanced and nice! There were many little service details that made it a wonderful place to bring other people they were so nice about all requests and our server was even taking multiple photos for us kindly and made us feel so welcome, things like splitting the bill were so easy. I 'll definitely be back with other groups and they even have a Ladies Night special on Tuesday these days that I want to check out. The room is nice enough for a nice group dinner but also comfortable enough for more casual nights. Portions were good and prices felt very reasonable for the level/area of the restaurant (service, decor, neighbourhood). Street parking at meters was easy."
