"Please read the entire review or you'll likely be confused about my stance. Thank you! Out of consideration of those afflicted with ADHD the easily distracted, please ignore the main review and accept in it's place a tldr you've wasted too much time already, order yourself a pie now (may I recommend you get fresh garlic as a topping? , food is great, a bit expensive and can be a longer wait than advertised but more than worth it! /tldr For the rest of you, let me start by mentioning the food is a bit on the expensive side when compared to other pizza places. It was about $24 for a large pizza with one topping. I know you can easily get a couple top pizzas and a 2 liter elsewhere for slightly less than that but don't do that unless you are on a fixed income and in that case, what are you doing ordering out? Cook dinner at home... Every penny counts! But assuming you can swing $25 for a single pie, then read on.... I ordered online using the slice app which you supposedly get a 10% discount for doing. I don't know if it actually is much of a discount as the menu at the place has significantly lower prices listed in it though there is a sign next to the menus stating the menus prices are no longer correct and that the prices have gone up so its quite possible the slice app does indeed reflect the accurate pricing, I have not tried ordering in person or over the phone so I am unable to advise you on this though it's possible it might be cheaper in person. I can however say that based on my experience, the slice app is not the most accurate source of info as it stated that my food would be ready to pickup about 15-20min after I placed it and so I arrived about 22 minutes after I ordered, 2 minutes after the app informed me that the food was cooked and ready for pickup but when I spoke to the guy behind the counter, he informed me it was going to be right out but needed a couple more minutes which as I wasn't in a rush I said no problem and began to wait. I understand things happen, especially around dinner time when restaurant can be slammed with orders but that didn't seem to factor in that day as surprisingly despite it being dinner time, the place was basically dead that day. There was one table dining in and a minute or two before my food was ready, another customer walked in to place an order, that was it, that was everybody I saw the entire time I was there and so far as I could tell there wasn't anything else cooking in the oven or waiting for delivery, perhaps I had just missed it beat the rush? so it's hard to say why the delay and even stranger why the app claimed it was ready when clearly it wasn't but after having to wait another 5-10min past when the app informed me it was done, it finally actually became ready. Now normally given the wait and high prices, this would be the end of my review and I'd advise against the place but... (I know this is long but you have just made it to the surprise twist hooray! ? not this place, not today! Despite the issues I have mentioned there is something that absolutely trumps all of that... the service? Heck no! It's the food! It was absolutely delicious! The fresh garlic (IMHO, the perfect pizza topping when made correctly and correctly it was made here! was fresh, fell chopped and plentiful in proportion but not excessive. Had it been priced in the $15-19 range I would have said that the pie was a good size being large enough to easily feed 3 or 4 people. Were it a lesser pizza, I'd have declared $24 highway robbery, especially when you factor in the delays and the price but I'm telling you, that factoring all that in, it is still easily $24 delicious... I mean don't let this declaration of deliciousness give the owner of Pizza Town a swollen head or anything, it's definitely not $25+ delicious but it is just within the upper limit of what I might occasionally spend on a pizza (0k you win, I'd even pay $25! Hope they have fin"

"So here’s the thing about pizza. You do not need fancy anything. In fact, if anything is “fancy” I’m gonna be seriously suspect about the pizza. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had some totally decent, proper, thin crust pizza in “fancy ish” restaurants. But not the kind of pizza I would come here to tell you about. And I am here to tell you about the pizza at Inferno in North Haven, CT.I found Inferno months and months ago on a Yelp foray and filed it away in one of my “collections.” Because my parents decamped to Florida for the winter I never got a chance to try them. I drive down from Vermont to Branford, CT regularly to visit my parents and what happens is I work all day and THEN drive the three hours ao I’m always trying to figure what I can grab for dinner on my way. New Haven/Napoletana style pizza is always at the top of my list (No, Im not interested in Sal and Pepe, I’m interested in the independent, family owned/run type stops that are STILL independent family owned/run . Inferno has been family owned for something like 30+ years. Obviously not in its current location…Inferno is located in a storefront in the little strip with Home Depot at one end and BJs at the other. The menu is not huge. It’s not pages and pages of things. It’s a decent selection of pizzas and then all the build it yourself pizza options. If you’re going to try a new pizza place you must order a plain, cheese pizza. It’s going to tell you a lot about what you need to know: what is the crust like? How are they cooking the crust? How is their red sauce?? How is the cheese? How much cheese?SIDEBAR: Do NOT be running any kind of Italian restaurant and serve me bad/bland/unseasoned red sauce. Just stop with that. If you can’t make a delicious, simple red sauce get OUT of Italian food!I’m pretty sure Inferno’s plain, cheese pizza is The Best Cheese Pizza I’ve ever had.Let me repeat that:Inferno’s plain, cheese pizza is The Best Cheese Pizza I’ve ever had.Wow. FANTASTIC.The crust is perfect. Thin, excellent flavor AND, cooked well with those areas of char around the edges. The hallmark of New Haven Pizza (the best pizza in the world don’t start with me! . Inferno cooks their pizzas in a proper wood fired oven, which is a big part of how you get that crust. But then you need someone in charge of the oven who knows how long to keep the pizzas in there and how much turning to get them fully, evenly cooked.A lot of places you have to order your pizzas “well done” to get the crust done right. But I always “test” a spot on my first time by just ordering the pizzas with no special instructions. Inferno cooked all three pizzas to perfection! Because apparently that’s just how they do it.I ordered a shrimp pizza, white. I don’t eat beef, pork or poultry, but I’m always here for white clam or shrimp! Uh. WOW. The shrimp pizza was CRAZY GOOD. Prior to eating this shrimp pizza I have always said that The White Clam is The King of ALL Pizzas. And I’m not really ready to dethrone a great White Clam…but this here shrimp? Right now? I’d choose this shrimp over any white clam.First, it’s COVERED in shrimp. And they are, somehow, cooked perfectly even while the crust has that char I was talking about. Not sure how they do this?? But it’s AMAZING. GET THIS PIZZA!!!The third pizza was an eggplant and pepper. Because when I see eggplant I have to order eggplant. As far as I can tell eggplant is a love it or hate it situation. Not too many “fence sitters” when eggplant is concerned. The eggplant is small, paper thin, breaded pieces that are delicious. Beware that this is a DENSE pizza. The eggplant is breaded and then on the crust. It will fill you up FAST.We also tried garlic bread with no cheese (crispy, buttery, very good and Caesar Salad. If you’ve been here before you know Caesar is my favorite salad and ALWAYS my “test salad.” Full Disclosure: the Romaine was ever so slightly tired. But I’m not really going to hold that against them.I will be back!Currently planning on when I can eat white Shrimp Pizza again…"
