"I was working a little bit longer in Bethesda today than I anticipated, and I had a craving for a grilled cheese sandwich. I decided to look at restaurants in the area that was within walking distance from my job, and I settled on Heckman's Deli. I was especially excited to try the grilled cheese BLT sandwich meal, and so I ordered that for pickup through Uber Eats. It was ready within 10-15 minutes, and I couldn't wait to eat it. Unfortunately, when I got to the sandwich, I discovered that it was just a plain grilled cheese sandwich. No bacon, lettuce, tomato, or mayo. I was utterly confused and saddened by this. I ended up calling the restaurant and the manager was shocked that my order was wrong after I explained to her what happened. She apologized and I appreciated it very much. Even though the restaurant couldn't give me a refund, I was able to get my money back via Uber Eats. I'm not sure what happened today that caused my sandwich to be totally wrong, but I'm willing to give this place another chance. I may have to try ordering the food through the website as opposed to Uber Eats, but I will still give Heckman's Deli a try again as the food was excellent."

"My family regulars this Denny's a couple of times a month. The daytime wait staff is amazing. They remember our preferences and treat us like family every time we come in. The food is as expected from a Denny's. Nothing to rave about but our orders come out right every time. I would have given 5 stars, however, during our most recent visit, we came in the evening for dinner. The place was understaffed, the waitress was rude and extremely poor. We were there 30 minutes before a drink order was taken, and the waitress only stopped at our table twice in a 90 minute period. The busboy ended up getting us our ticket and refills most the night, but only after we flagged him over. The waitress blatantly ignored us multiple times. My recommendation... Go in the morning or lunch hour. The staff will treat you and go above and beyond a typical Denny's. Don't waste your money on that night staff though. Hopefully they will replace that staff and get the 5 star rating the rest of the employees deserve."

"Everybody praises Mike the waiter and all the staff today! You were the stars today! Mike was the only one on the ground and did everything. It was busy and they were short staff in the kitchen. Mike apologised and let me and the guests know that it could wait a bit. What I could say, however, was the waiting time for service and my food when something shorter than I expected from most Dennys and other restaurants lately. And the food was great, my steak was perfect. Much better than I expected from a Denny's with a long shot! Mike on the go, constantly busy, never brutal, out and sincerely friendly and attentive, never come as impatient, I realized that I have not seen or experienced this level of professionalism and service in every restaurant in a very long time. I even discovered him through the kitchen door that helps with the dishes. Give Mike and the rest of today's crew an increase or you'll lose them."

"First, it was only one blond waiter (he was nice) but first thing he said to us was “I will attend you all after this table because they arrived first”. Then, we waited almost an hour for our food. I ordered French Toast and they were Black like this “” and the eggs that i had looked like bird p00p, the pork sausages were burn on a side, but mweh i was hungry so i ate them because i was not gonna wait another hour to get my order right. My grandma ordered spoons and the waiter came to us with spoons and said “They are still wet because they just came out of the dishwasher”i mean, they were clean (i hope) lol. "I ordered the Vegan Breakfast, which came with seasoned tofu, crispy potatoes, and toast served with butter and jam. I decided to add the house-made pear-sage vegan sausage, but I wasn't very impressed with it, especially for an extra $5. Other than that, the meal was delicious and satisfying. My partner had the Nopales Scramble, which featured fresh cactus, roasted mushrooms, caramelized onions, and garlic scrambled with seasoned tofu, and she really enjoyed it."

"This place is on the exit of sweatwater road from 805 plenty of parking and cleaned environment. I we ordered the stuffed strawberry French toast and a jr pancakes with scrambled eggs. Food was amazing. Service was amazing from the start we were offered coffee and orange juice. At the end we finished with a pecan pie and a cheese cake. I prefer the cheesecake. It is a economical comfort food and it's open 24/7."

"So I came here to try the steak and eggs ? but changed my mind and picked the steak and eggs ? skillet instead which comes with some cooked ? potatoes ? eggs ? made your way and a choice of either toast, or mini pancakes ?. The plate itself isn 't a traditional hot skillet but it I definitely enjoy everything and noted the food was prepared with great care with fresh ingredients and I was so full I still have some pancakes ? left in my fridge for tomorrow. The skillet comes with a green tomatillo sauce so that was a nice surprise and I didn 't have to wait long for my food to come out. This being my first time here I didn 't see beverages listed in the menu so I asked my server for suggestions without realizing until the end of the meal there is a prominent chalk board against a wall with a complete list of canned sodas, juices, jarritos brand pops, horchata, milk ? and milkshakes. She suggested I order the strawberry horchata which was only slightly tasting of cinnamon but it reminded me too much of the child 's drink strawberry ? Nestlé Qwik drink which I never really cared for. I think the drink was OK but I probably would have preferred a simple tomato ? juice drink to accompany my breakfast food. The place itself is kind of worn down and could use some remodeling. Also to get to the bathroom ? you do need to walk through the kitchen area so it 's kind of a weird layout. I believe I paid around $27 including tip for the skillet ? and strawberry ? iced horchata which is a bit on the pricey side for a diner as low key as this one. Also there was a large table of rowdy high school kids here thar kind of killed the vibe for me. In summary food here is incredible but a tad pricey for the location and the fact that this tiny diner is not a fine dining experience. This seems to be an ideal breakfast spot for younger people that sells a combination of Mexican and American fare in a very low key atmosphere."

"My husband and I had a disappointing experience during our visit. We noticed that the servers, hosts, and kitchen staff were gathered outside by the front door smoking. After we finished our meal, we waited for our server to return so we could order dessert. Instead, she placed the check on our table from a distance while walking by, wishing us a good night as she headed back outside. We also observed that servers were moving between tables without washing their hands. Overall, we were very dissatisfied with our experience. Service: Dine-in."

"I ordered vegetable beef soup and coffee. The soup was delicious, and the coffee was good too. I did have to wait a little while for a refill on my coffee, but the service was friendly. I've been here before and had excellent service, so it might have just been an off day for the staff member. I will definitely return in the future."

"Fun little place with great coffee and breakfast food, would love to come back! (Lunch options too that have not tried) They have lots of fun seasonal options for both as well. As a group we tried the Paris Fog drink (no picture) was fantastic, definitely recommend if you enjoy tea lattes! Also tried their Karamel Sutra (also very good that's the photo), Mocha Latte, and iced coffee. Food we tried and would recommend include the sunny tater hash and the Whole 9 Yards meal (egg cooked any way, meat option, biscuits or toast, and then breakfast potatoes or some other side choices). More seating here than meets the eye when you first walk in too, so larger groups should be okay!"

"I just ordered a mushroom chicken cheese steak platter from Campus pizza.It was one of the worst platters I've ever had from them. It had no mayo or ketchup on the steak as I ordered, barely any chicken on it. IT WAS THIN AF ! My fries were big, thick, Luke warm w/no salt,pepper, or ketchup as I ordered. I use to get the Italian hoagie from there; about 1-2/week for me family, but they started to get skimpy with the meat on that so I stopped ordering it also because it's not the 1st time something like this has happened w/them so I had to let y'all know. But I paid $16. for a platter that's barely worth $8.I ordered from there because it's Halal, it was good 1 point the people are nice.I barely eat pizza, but it seams like that may be the only thing I get from there from now on unless they get skimpy w/that also."

"First time we have been into this Denny's in many years. My husband and I both ordered the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. My son ordered the Fire 5 pepper burger. Becca our waitress was prompt and kept us informed about our salads as the chicken took longer to cook than the burger. The burger wasn't very spicy but otherwise our food was excellent as well as the service. I would have given 5 stars but they have gotten rid of the Cesar salad so now all you get is a plate of iceberg lettuce and that isn't very tasty."

"Went during the night time as a bar. The DJ played good music but the ambiance wasn?t amazing. The place was pretty empty for a Saturday night which isn?t their fault but from reading other reviews could be because of the servers. The bartenders wereextremely rude. I made eye contact and waved at one bartender 3 times and was ignored and other people were given priority overme when I had been waiting longer. One bartender gave me the wrong drink and then scolded me like I was a child when I kindlycorrected her. I never leave negative reviews but I?ve never had such rude servers and don?t wish anyone to go through what Ihad. There are 2-3 other bars literally right next to this place and I recommend going there over this place. Superdisappointed."
