"There's a lot to love about Stonehurst Manor, where a friend and I chose to stay when we took part in the Mt. Washington Valley Chocolate Festival. It was in a perfect location to access the trails, the restaurant was excellent, service was friendly, and the lounge was cozy and comfortable. The room #3), however, was a different story. I could not sleep for three reasons: 1) Paper thin walls. The floors above creaked loudly with every movement my neighbors above made, and I heard way too much of their conversations and those of my adjacent neighbors. 2) We could not control the heat in the room. 3) Most disturbing of all was the perfumy, disgusting smell of the sheets... it was impossible to escape. As if that weren't enough, the room was not clean. When looking for an outlet on the wall under the bed I saw what I wish I hadn't a collection of dust and dirt that must have been there for years. The grout and corners in the bathroom also had not been touched in a very long time. The bathroom didn't have a fan. On our back porch was an old wine bottle and glass from a previous guest.I was so looking forward to my stay at Stonehurst, but needless to say, I will not be back."
