"We were here a few years ago for an anniversary and had memories of a romantic dinner with a great filet. This trip I made reservations a couple days before and was asked about special occasions and requests. I mentioned a special anniversary and asked for a glass of champagne to start our diner. Nothing was mentioned. I finally asked about it when dinner was served. After awhile and some pointing and discussion by staff we were brought a glass and told we could also have complimentary dessert. To share we were told. As for the food, shrimp was tough and not hot. My husband’s filet was acceptable, not anything special. Mine was tough and had gristle in the middle. My husband shared his. The complimentary dessert was good. My husband had a lovely piece of jewelry as a surprise and we’d hoped for a nicer experience. It was just ok. I would probably spend your $150 somewhere else local. The Elms property is such a unique and beautiful place, just disappointing dining experience. Update: we had a breakfast credit and the hotel refused to refund it. I went to the restaurant bar to order to go. I witnessed the “server” tell two guests who asked to order a coffee that they needed to go to the bar upstairs and get their coffee” The service here is just plain bizarre. That was the word I heard another guest use!"
