"Abuelo's Mexican Restaurant had a lovely entrance with a gate, which I appreciated. The terrace was spacious and would be great for dining outside when the Texas heat eases up a bit. I really enjoyed the variety of salsas they served at the beginning. One was a spicy salsa with chunks of tomato, while another was a sweet, minty green salsa, possibly made with tomatillos as a base. They also had a classic salsa that was perfect for dipping with their crispy thin chips. I ordered the Grande, which is a huge platter meant for sharing—ideal for two people. They asked if I wanted rice or beans, and I highly recommend the beans; they were fantastic! The waitress was very attentive and pleasant. My grandma found the tortilla soup to be a bit sharp in flavor, and they kindly offered her a different option. She opted for the beans as well and enjoyed them. I apologize for only having pictures of my food!"

"Great location, very good service and thats where it ends. The margaritas are so bitter you can’t taste the alcohol, even when you ask for hi-end spirits you can’t get past the bitter mix. Margaritas are easy Easy, tequila, fresh squeezed juice, simple syrup, an orange flavored liquor, weather it’s triple sec, Cointreau or Grand Marnier. Add the salt, it’s pretty simple. “Rib Eye” Fajita? It was so overcooked and salty. The vegetable were overcooked but accountable compared to the “ribeye”. The taco salad was average. Price extra for chips and salsa...."

"On my first visit to this restaurant, I decided to try a variety of dishes by ordering The Grande. Overall, I had a great experience. The Chile Relleno was absolutely amazing and I am looking forward to having it again. However, I found the crispy taco to be a bit basic and lacking inspiration for a restaurant of this caliber. The drink options were excellent, particularly the margaritas which I would rate 5/5 stars. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I definitely plan on returning soon."

"It's an authentic Mexican spot I presume run by real Pueblanos in the Bronx. I've had the Al Pastor, Barbacoa de Chivo, Bistec Gorditas, Tacos Americanos, Pollo Gorditas, Bistec Tacos, and Pollo Tacos. Note that real Mexican tacos don't come with cheese for that you have to get the Americanos. For the price this is a good spot although I've had better elsewhere. Also, I wish delivery was faster every time I order it takes quite some time for the food to come and I don't live too far from it."

"We were very disappointed with our experience at Tacos Morelos. There was a 20% service charge for table service that was neither mentioned on the menu nor communicated by our waitress. Having visited several times before, we had never encountered this fee. It felt like a hidden charge, and on top of that, they still expected a tip, which we gave. Unfortunately, we have decided not to return. I would warn others to be cautious about this unexpected service fee. The dining area was completely empty, with us as the only customers. I cannot recommend this restaurant due to the undisclosed service charge that wasn’t listed on the menu or explained verbally. The waitress said it was printed on the bill, but we found that very frustrating. This really ruined our special anniversary celebration."

"My husband, 2 kids, and myself are here today. We have been to an Abuelos before but this was our first visit to your location. It was AMAZING!!! My husband had the bacon wrapped tenderloin and stuffed bacon wrapped shrimp. He LOVED it! He let me have a bite of each thing too. The tenderloin was melt in your mouth delicious!! Shrimp too!! I had the beef fajitas. Also amazing!! Kids meals were good size. Everything came out perfect! My husband likes to ask the waiter what their favorite thing is and then he tries it. Alfonso did a wonderful job explaining his favorite things in each category of the menu. He was great at his job and we enjoyed our visit!!! Oh, and my margarita was good too!! : . We told the manager on duty how great everything was but I felt I needed to put it here too. Thanks for a great dinner, we will return soon!! Josh and Tyla Woods."

"This place is AWESOME! I don't live in the area, but visit friends nearby often. Even if we've eaten elsewhere, I make a point to get something for the next day. Can't get enough. I love spicy food, and always get a ton of extra red sauce. One of the few places in Brooklyn that reminds me of the best L.A. has to offer.Ignore the bad reviews. Not they all used an app that uses 3rd party delivery. Shameful to blame such a great place for someone else's sloth."

"These tacos were absolutely amazing! I tried the crispy tripe, lengua, and carnitas, and opted for the carnitas in a crunchy American-style taco. It was incredibly crunchy, and I loved the texture—it’s something I haven’t experienced before in Texas. The tripe was cooked to perfection, literally melting in my mouth. The orange sauce was delicious, spicy, and packed with flavor. I can’t wait to come back and explore more items on the menu. My partner had the chicken tacos, which were full of flavor, although they were a bit on the dry side. However, the great taste made it a minor issue. If you visit, be sure to try at least one of the crunchy American-style tacos. I had five tacos and a glass of Coke for just $22—an excellent lunch for you and a friend!"

"Abuelos is a chain Mexican Tex Mex restaurant with 38 locations. It has been in Knoxville for many years now and is located right in the middle of Turkey Creek. In past years, I 've been to this particular Abuelos and it wasn 't good. It was the type of meal that you forget after a few years like eating at a random Applebees. Nonetheless, I thought I 'd give them a second chance. After all, they somehow maintain a prime location in Turkey Creek and people seem to go there. If it was bad, wouldn 't the free market economy deliver a swift death blow? Alas, apparently there is room for mediocre and even bad restaurants to survive. Abuelos illustrates this perfectly. I ordered the pork tenderloin with sweet chile glaze (a so called House Specialty). It was accompanied by mashed potatoes and beans. We also ordered the guacamole appetizer. While I wouldn 't usually order mashed potatoes in a Mexican restaurant, Abuelos saw fit to include it on their house specialty. So, I falsely assumed the side would be decent and, at a minimum, edible. But, when it came out, it looked like pretty gruesome. Like a sloppy, homogenized mixture of cheese and potato mix that had been microwaved 2 minutes too long. For goodness sake, just look at the picture below. I felt that eating the potatoes would be a food A bomb for my gut. The beans were a little better. At least, they resembled beans. But, the beans were so flavorless it was hard to eat more than a few bites. Now, the pork. It tasted fair. But, it wasn 't very good. Certainly nothing special or unique about it. Strangely enough, the pork tasted an awful lot like the teriyaki chicken over at Panda Express. In fact, it was cut up the same way and had a similar (yet less appealing) flavor. For the money, I 'd much prefer the Panda Express teriyaki chicken. At least the sides would be better and I 'd even get a fortune cookie! My wife ordered tamales. Her food also was pretty bad. Probably some of the least appealing tamales I have ever consumed. Overall: Avoid Abuelos. It 's name is strangely appropriate. If you had put my grandfather into a kitchen, I suspect the food would have tasted like this. That 's because, when he was alive, all he could do was open cans and use a microwave."

"First time to Chimi’s and it was good. I always try the beef fajitas on my first visit to a Mexican restaurant. It came with beans, rice; guacamole, pico de gallo, green and red bell peppers and onions. Most of the beef was tender and juicy. The meat didn’t have the limey taste or enough spice to elevate the taste to a 5 star level. Our server provided us excellent service. I like the brightness of all the colors in the dining area. I will be back to try other items including their margaritas."

"We highly recommend this restaurant for local Mexican food! We ordered take out over the phone and the staff were incredibly easy to work with. Once receiving our food, there was a warm bag of complimentary tortilla chips and the meal portion sizes were huge! All the food was delicious, including the veggie options. We hope you get to enjoy the same experience."

"My wife and I are fans, especially of the chips and salsa. Secret tip: they have habanero salsa that you can request at any time. In the photo, it is the one on the far left, and it is great! The food is always excellent... Never had any issues! The 5th star is missing because to be politely blunt their beer on tap selection is honestly awful for a place that has such a great menu. Not only are there only five selections, but two of them are hideously cheap American beers (Bud light and Coors... Yuck). I understand that you are not a full fledged bar, but this is a nice environment, with an excellent menu, and deserves a much better selection of craft beer."

"We stopped on a busy Saturday night and decided to eat and drink at the bar above. Our server/bartender was busy, but attentive and friendly, made a Entrée recommendation and kept our drinks refreshed. The food was hot and delicious and the portions were big enough that we had no place for dessert. Overall, it was a great culinary experience. Thanks, Abuelo's! *Note: If the parking space is packed and the waiting time is 20 minutes, don't leave it. This is a large restaurant with adequate staff, which can handle large dinner sales. Many large groups moved in and out while we were there."

"Moving to Sudden Valley has been a delightful experience, especially with this fantastic, friendly Mexican restaurant nearby! I had heard wonderful things about El Agave 2, but my first visit exceeded all my expectations. The owners and staff make you feel like family, and the food is among the best I've ever tasted. The prices are very reasonable, and the margaritas are incredibly satisfying! From now on, this will be my go-to place for Mexican cuisine!"

"From the moment we entered, the service was outstanding. The waitress and managers frequently checked in to ensure we were having a great experience. The food was excellent; I tried the Chicken Zucchini, and the sauce was amazing! The generous portion size was more than I could finish. I also really enjoyed their fresh salsa trio and the house-made tortillas. Without a doubt, we will be back soon. Give it a try—you won't regret it!"

"The restaurant was very clean and our host was very kind and welcoming. We ordered the Enchiladas and they were not good. Our plates were very hot as if they were microwaved. The Enchiladas were of store bought frozen quality. The refried beans were very dry (happens in my experience when you microwave them). The food I saw other people had looked very appealing so I was surprised with my food quality. I don't like that I paid $25 for what felt like was microwaved. I would like to give a second chance based of what I saw others had, but will probably not be coming back. Again, Our host was great so thank you for that."

"The food at this restaurant is excellent, and the atmosphere is generally pleasant. However, my experience was marred by a staff member named Cristina, who was quite rude to some guests who arrived late for the Thanksgiving dinner. She claimed the food was all gone, despite there being a tray of beans, rice, chips, and salsa available. A young man kindly pointed this out, stating that there were still beans, rice, chips, and salsa if anyone wanted them. Later, when someone asked for water, there was a case of bottled water right on the table. Yet again, the young man stepped in to help, reminding the guest that the bottles were available. Cristina then made an incorrect comment about "Mexican waters," despite the fact that a container of Jamaica water was still about a quarter full. In the end, they took back the leftover beans, and I’m not sure what happened to the rice. Despite these issues, I highly recommend the food—it really is magnificent!"
