"A bit pricey for what it was. The ingredients were good, but not good enough for it to be $17 for a medium amount of nachos and one taco. It didn't come with hot salsa on it or with it, so it had no kick was missing some flavor. And it showed up cold even though its 90 out and I'm pretty close.It feels like this place could be a favorite if they gave a little more food salsa, and delivered it warm."

"Best Mexican food I’ve ever had!!! I’m from Virginia and over the years I thought I just wasn’t a huge fan of “Mexican food” because it seems to taste the same no matter where you go. But El Sombrero is by far the best I’ve ever had. The queso (when you can get it) is AMAZING! Has the perfect amount of cheesy and spicy flavor without being a regular dull plain white queso. I got the steak fajita burrito and it is sooooooo delicious. The portion sizes are also huge!! So be prepared to wear loose pants or take home leftovers! Would give 6 stars if I could. Would go back to Rapid City just for this restaurant"

"The best authentic Mexican food. Love the Michoacana enchiladas. Unfortunately they have no customer service skills. I ordered 3 orders of Michoacána enchiladas and only received 1. I know that it might have been Uber’s fault for not verifying the order. However, I still felt it was Tamales restaurant fault as well for only making 1 order. So, I called them and they didn’t even care. Showed no empathy or concern. They said if you order something we can do something about it. I order every Friday for dinner and spend like $145.00. "This was my first visit to this cozy, local Mexican restaurant that has a wonderful small-town atmosphere. We both tried the Asada Burrito Carrol Style, and it was genuinely delicious! The steak was cooked to perfection and had a fantastic flavor. The only downside was their beer selection; they only offered the usual Mexican beers, and we prefer local brews. However, it still complemented the vibe of the place. I definitely recommend checking it out!"

"The food at this restaurant is excellent! They offer a variety of drink options for under $10 during happy hour (I believe it's Monday-Friday from 4-7pm) as well as delicious food at a reasonable price. I tried the tinga quesadilla and it was amazing, served with guacamole and pico de gallo. The chips and salsa were also top-notch. I highly recommend the passion fruit margarita, which was delicious and came with a cute garnish. The traditional margarita was great too. They also have a Taco Tuesday deal that I will definitely be returning for. If you're in the area or craving a yummy taco, I would recommend checking out this restaurant."

"We hosted a small birthday party for about nine people, and we were seated right away. Our server was fantastic, making sure our drinks, utensils, and napkins were always replenished. They even kept our ice cream cake frozen until we were ready for it. The food was delicious, and everyone had nothing but positive things to say. Our server was very attentive to all of our needs. Thank you for making our birthday celebration so wonderful!"
