"We made a reservation for six and arrived right on time, where we were seated promptly. We had a cozy corner bench with one person at the table. The menu was easy to read and offered a wide variety of choices. Our waiter was extremely accommodating. My Mexican husband said the food tasted very authentic—one of the best meals we've had here in the states. The decor created a comfortable atmosphere, and the rest of our party felt the same way. We will definitely be returning!"

"La Escondida is a great place to get great Mexican food. It was my first time to eat here and the food was superb!! I ordered the fajita chicken enchiladas and they were super delicious!! In addition to the red sauce they bring out with the complimentary chips, they also being out a small bowl of refried beans. Great tasting as well! The parking lot is shared with other business establishments so it is spacious and it does get full pretty fast. The prices for the meals are competitive to other Mexican restaurants as well. I highly recommend this place for your next meal!!"

"I visited this restaurant for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. I discovered it through advertisements on Instagram and was intrigued by the appealing food, so my decision to give it a try was a good one. We arrived just before the dinner rush and the restaurant quickly filled up. The servers were attentive and took our order shortly after we were seated. Our food arrived promptly and was served piping hot and beautifully plated. I tried the Champion burrito with pork and Chile Relleno, which was so large that I could only finish half of it. My wife enjoyed her fish tacos, although she would have preferred corn tortillas instead of flour. Overall, we had a great dining experience and will definitely return in the future."

"Please keep in mind; this was a DoorDash order, which ultimately comes to your own opinion with the matter: The stuffed sopapilla plate was exceptional, and they did follow instructions... But when I dug into the chips and queso it became very apparent I was given leftovers from prior orders. The chips within the bag had crusted over pieces of chile and cheese obviously from the queso dip from who knows how long ago. That has to be illegal and obviously against food safety orders. Do better. Unfortunately I ate some of my plate before realizing or I would have tossed the entire order in the trash."

"This is a delightful and peaceful Mexican restaurant situated in a strip mall. I stopped by around 5 PM on a rainy Friday and was the sole customer at the time. I observed that they also offered takeout and delivery options. I ordered the chicken burrito bowl and was very satisfied with both the generous portion and the quality of the food. Additionally, I tried a mango margarita, which I found quite enjoyable. Overall, I had a pleasant experience; however, I did think the prices were somewhat elevated, though this could be typical for the Chicago area."

"The fajita bowl with grilled chicken was not what I expected. Usually if it states grilled chicken its the breast meat. What was in this bowl was fatty thigh meat and lots of lettuce, which was not listed in the discription. Very disappointed. This was the first time trying the fajita bowl and also trying this location. The chips that were with my order were stale and they never sent any utensils."
